Summary
The Human Resources Director will lead, manage, and coordinate the comprehensive human resources functions of the organization while also managing and developing HR staff. With a broad set of knowledge and experience, the HR Director will be responsible for ensuring HR regulatory compliance, technology systems management, training development & delivery, compensation & benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, and full employee lifecycle management. The HR Director is expected to play a critical role in fostering and supporting Impact’s mission of patient centered care focused on recovery, structure, and community reintegration.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and accreditation standards (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA, Joint Commission, etc.) maintaining up-to-date knowledge of HR-related legislation and design/implement appropriate policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
- Oversee employee performance management programs including goal setting, performance evaluations, and career development plans are completed across the organization.
- Manage employee relations including resolving complex HR issues with a focus on empathy, conflict resolution, compliance, and staff wellbeing.
- Design and administer robust employee training & development, compensation, and benefits programs.
- Configure, maintain, and enhance HR technology platforms and systems, evaluating processes and procedures to streamline operations and improve employee experience.
- Lead the HR department providing guidance and support to HR personnel, promoting team coordination/communication, and provide professional development opportunities aligned to team and organizational goals.
- Serve as a strategic partner to organizational leadership by implementing HR strategies, policies, and programs aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives and be a thought partner on people-related issues.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Attention to Detail: Deep understanding of HR principles and best practices, including high-level knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
- Conflict Resolution: Managing employee conflicts before they escalate through proper mediation and fielding of complaints.
- Organizational: Effective management of HR functions including handling multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing essential tasks, and meeting deadlines.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Communicate HR policies effectively and build positive working relationships across the organization establishing rapport with stakeholders at all levels.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- HR certification strongly preferred (e.g., SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR)
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in a nonprofit or healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated success implementing HR technology solutions
- In-depth knowledge of California and federal employment laws
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead with empathy, integrity, and cultural competence.
Compensation & Benefits
- The salary range for this role is $125,000-$135,000 per year. Actual salary commensurate with experience.

Additional Information
- Standard office environment with some travel to program sites and offsite meetings.
- This is a fully on-site position based in our Pasadena office. We are not offering hybrid or remote options for this role.
