    SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS

    NAPABA is seeking a highly motivated professional to administer programs that foster community and open doors for members and law students through leadership training and career development. The role is also responsible for providing programmatic support to the NAPABA Law Foundation (NLF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports the Asian Pacific American legal community through fellowships, scholarships, education, and community partnerships.

    The position requires strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, thorough, accurate, and an effective and collaborative communicator with internal and external stakeholders. The Programs Associate will be an important contributor to the effectiveness and efficiency of NAPABA’s strategic goal to optimize our programs to strengthen the sense of community and inclusion across our membership.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    MEMBER & LAW STUDENT PROGRAMS

    • Coordinate projects that foster mentorship and provide skill training and leadership development for members and law students. Key responsibilities include coordinating and executing the workflow processes such as timeline management, meeting scheduling, budget tracking, application management, and website updates.
    • Collaborate with our communications team to develop member-facing communications for NAPABA programs, including promotional and digital content for mailings, social media, newsletters, and the NAPABA website.
    • Maintain accurate program records, track participant data and engagement, and produce accurate and timely and accurate reporting on programming activities.
    • Distribute, collect, and analyze evaluation surveys to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.
    • Administer and market the NAPABA Law Foundation’s scholarship and fellowship programs.
    • Coordinate onsite program logistics, including registration, materials, A/V needs, and other event support tasks.
    • Provide excellent customer service to all members—including responding to requests, inquiries, and concerns related to programs.
    • Collaborate with other internal teams—including the Membership, Operations, and Meetings Department—to support programs, membership, and organizational needs.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    We are a fast-paced, high-energy organization with a staff that is highly motivated to deliver quality member service. This position may experience high level work demands under tight timelines. The ideal candidate has a degree in business, nonprofit management, or a related field and two or more years of project management and customer service experience.

    • Strong project management skills, organizational skills, time management skills, and the ability to work independently are all required.
    • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent member-oriented ethic and ability to interact positively and effectively with a variety of audiences (including internal and external stakeholders) using written, verbal, and nonverbal communications.
    • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure and with multiple deadlines.
    • Strict attention to detail.
    • Capacity to adapt to new issues as they emerge.
    • Ability to use good judgment and work independently in a multi-task position.
    • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with staff, membership, the public, the board of governors, and volunteers.
    • Fluency or ability to develop fluency with work process tools used by the staff, including Microsoft Office, Slack, Asana, Box, and others.

    LOGISTICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • NAPABA operates on a 37 ½ work week with flexible hours and remote workdays.
    • Ideally, the candidate should reside in the DC metro area. But regardless of residency, the candidate must commit to work in-person in NAPABA’s DC office regularly and as needed.
    • The candidate will be required to be present and available throughout the NAPABA Convention and during other NAPABA programs and events.
    • Periodic travel is required, estimated at one to two weeks in a 12-month period.

    SALARY

    $55,000 - $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
