    Our mission is to affirm the dignity and self-reliance of individuals and families in underserved communities through meaningful employment. Our approach focuses on the individual by pairing both youth and adult job seekers with employment coaches throughout their job search process. In addition to one-on-one coaching, participants complete soft skills training to learn how to de-escalate conflict, communicate clearly and effectively, and to make informed and consistent decisions. In addition to individual job coaching, One On One serves 200 youth annually through experiential work placement programs.

    Position

    Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Programs oversees all of the organization's programmatic efforts. The Director serves on the leadership team of the organization and has a critical voice of insight, input, and continuous development to the organization. The Director manages all operations, grant program implementation and reporting, and program staff. The ideal candidate is a seasoned nonprofit professional with workforce development program management experience. This position currently manages five direct reports and oversees the implementation of One On One standard job coaching programming in addition to four specialized workforce development programs providing work placement and industry-specific training. This is a competitive opportunity for a seasoned nonprofit professional. A successful candidate will be a strong relationship builder, highly organized, and experienced at managing multiple complex project requirements while providing team leadership.

    Responsibilities

    Programming and Operations 80%

    Leadership and Team Management

    • Manage team of 5 employment coaches, providing best practice insight and support
    • Train and equip all program staff in one-on-one processes and program-specific requirements including internal and external program systems
    • Oversee recruitment, training, and ongoing professional development for program staff and volunteers as needed
    • Provide teaching support for program implementation as needed

    Program Operations and Partner Engagement

    • Oversee daily implementation of all programmatic elements of the organization including staff scheduling, participant programs, and partnership activities
    • Ensure safety of all program participants and staff by providing support and maintenance of program participant agreement forms and behavior conduct of all who enter One On One spaces
    • Oversee all program operations at all locations of programming, including on-site work at partner organizations
    • Develop, maintain, and serve as senior point of contact for employer partners
    • Market programs within community and engage stakeholders, including referral partners and employment partners to ensure consistent enrollment in programs
    • Maintain program budget, including disbursements to clients and all program-specific budgets
    • Manage vendor invoicing and reconciliation against budget for programs
    • Administer program participant payroll for all experiential work placements
    • Maintain consistent communication with Executive Director regarding needed materials and supplies to ensure successful programming and operations

    Program evaluation and improvement

    • Regularly maintain program and client evaluation to ensure proper outcomes including compliance with all reporting
    • Manage grant implementation and reporting with support from Executive Director
    • Own all monthly, quarterly, and annual grant reporting requirements
    • Lead program-specific audits in coordination with requesting entities.
    • Identify and consistently develop and implement best practices to improve programs
    • Ensure all systems are clear and user friendly for both staff and participants
    • Other administrative tasks as needed

    Fundraising Support 10%

    • Support program specific fundraising initiatives as needed in collaboration with Director of Development and Executive Director
    • Provide program-specific reporting metrics as needed for donor reports

    Other Leadership Support 10%

    • Stay up-to-date on city wide, state wide, and national relevant initiatives
    • Promote the organization within the community and maintain collaborative partnerships
    • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives and projects

    Qualifications

    • 5-7 years of program leadership and staff management experience required, experience with developing and implementing workforce development programs preferred
    • Proven ability to design and implement creative solutions to complex problems
    • Demonstrated success developing and evaluating program models, and of selecting and successfully deploying innovative programs
    • Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
    • Exceptional ability to build relationships with community stakeholders and program participants
    • Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills with a demonstrated attention to detail
    • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Google Drive, Salesforce proficiency a bonus
    • Experience with Illinois Work Net preferred
    • Relevant education preferred, LCSW a bonus
    • Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written, with an ability to communicate to a variety of audiences
    • Demonstrated effectiveness working with diverse teams
    • Creative problem solver who routinely thinks ‘outside of the box’
    • Candidates should be passionate about our mission and the workforce development space

    Details

    One On One offers an exciting opportunity to a seasoned Non-Profit management professional. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and is considered leadership of the organization. The Director will immediately have five direct reports.

    Compensation

    The salary range for this position is $90,000-$115,000, commensurate with experience. One On One offers generous time off, including 11 paid holidays and paid time off between December 24th and January 1st, employer sponsored health care, dental care, and 401K with a 3% match. This is an exempt position, occasional night and weekend hours may be required. This is an in-person job with one day a week remote.
