    JOB MISSION

    YPIE programs prepare students with the academic and life skills needed for college success. YPIE seeks an Program Manager to provide academic support in ELA and writing, and teach a career-pathway program that will prepare students for college success.

    RESPONSIBILITIES & RESULTS - ACADEMICS/MAJORS

    Academics

    • After-school Instruction: Plan and execute daily academic lessons/tutoring sessions to ensure each student improves their academic skills in ELA and writing.
    • In-school Student Support: Develop and support academic intervention plans to both directly tutor students and foster self-advocacy so students identify and seek school support structures.

    Majors

    • Plan, coordinate, and teach one or more career-pathway programs (“YPIE Majors”), such as debate, entrepreneurship, or robotics.
    • Facilitate real-world project-based learning experiences for students that empower them to compete and contribute to their field.

    Student Engagement & Effective Relationships

    • Develop strong professional relationships with students in order to facilitate targeted and comprehensive support.
    • Help connect students to crucial YPIE and external resources as necessary and hold students accountable for milestones to achieve their goals.
    • Collaborate with volunteers to assist in providing services to YPIE students

    Family Engagement

    • Maintain active, collaborative relationships with key family figures in students' lives, coordinating to address students’ challenges and reinforce goals.
    • Facilitate meetings involving a family figure for each student.

    Program Administration & Recruitment

    • Manage student records and leverage data systems to proactively identify student challenges and concerns.
    • Manage relevant program logistics and communicate with key stakeholders about timelines and necessary tasks.
    • Recruit for a new cohort of YPIE Scholars each year, proactively collaborating with district partners to identify target students and deliver info sessions and presentations.

    CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

    To be eligible for consideration, applicants should have:

    • Teaching certification or certificate of eligibility required
    • Bachelors degree required
    • An outcomes-focused orientation
    • Ability to make arrangements for daily travel/transitions between program sites
    • Flexibility to work some evening and weekend hours as student needs arise

    The most competitive applicants will possess:

    • Background teaching high school level ELA, or TESOL experience
    • Experience with ensuring equity for a diverse population of students
    • Ability to see the big picture and sweat the small stuff at the same time
    • Ability to create good systems & willingness to execute existing systems/processes
    • Proven organizational and program tracking skills
    • Flexibility; able to roll with the punches
    • Spanish, Arabic, or other bilingual fluency a plus

    Salary range: $62,500 to $72,500
