    Description

    The mission of Raíces de Bienestar is to promote and strengthen the mental health, emotional well-being, and resilience of the Latine community through culturally-grounded, evidence-based practices, interventions, and initiatives.

    We seek an experienced nonprofit leader who is deeply connected to the community. They will work closely with our Board and team to ensure the mission and values of Raíces de Bienestar are carried throughout all aspects of the organization and in our work with the community. The Executive Director will be deeply invested in supporting and providing mental health resources for the Latine community in Oregon.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Organizational & Strategic Leadership (20% of time)

    • Lead and oversee all organizational operations in alignment with Raíces de Bienestar’s mission and values (i.e., competitive pay, equitable time off, flexible work arrangements, and more).
    • Ensure excellence in clinical services, community engagement, consultation and training programs, administration, fundraising, communications, and internal systems.
    • Co-lead strategic planning with the Board and other senior staff, with a focus on sustainability, continuation of culturally responsive care, and future expansion.
    • Build and maintain systems for tracking outcomes, evaluating programs, and reporting impact.
    • Foster a healthy, trauma and resilience-informed organizational culture that supports staff wellbeing and retention.

    Governance & Fundraising (15% of time)

    • Attend and actively participate in Board meetings at the guidance or request of the Board of Directors, per the organization’s bylaws.
    • Partner with the Board to support governance, strategic decision-making, and organizational accountability.
    • Assist with board engagement, development, and fundraising efforts with consultant support.

    Financial Management & Sustainability (15% of time)

    • Oversee the organizational budget, financial performance, and fiscal grant compliance.
    • Manage revenue cycle, including commercial insurance and Medicaid billing, reimbursement rates, and financial sustainability.
    • Ensure a diversified mix of revenue from clinical services, consultation and training, funders, and other sources.
    • Support responsible revenue growth while promoting fiscal responsibility within the organization.
    • Work closely with finance and fundraising consultants on forecasting, grant strategy, and reporting.

    Community Engagement, Partnerships & Advocacy (30% of time)

    • Serve as the organization’s primary public-facing leader within the community and across the state.
    • Build and sustain partnerships with community-based organizations, funders, health agencies, and public-sector partners.
    • Facilitate the Community Advisory Committee and ensure meaningful community voice in organizational decisions.
    • Strengthen referral networks and collaborative care opportunities for serving the Latine community.
    • Advance organizational visibility, communications, and community recognition.

    People & Culture (10% of time)

    • Lead with a trauma-informed approach by coaching, mentoring, and supporting a diverse team of clinical, programmatic, and administrative staff.
    • Oversee and guide strategies for recruitment, supportive supervision, performance feedback and professional development.
    • Promote cultural affirmation, equity, inclusion, and staff well-being through supportive workplace practices and offerings (i.e., training, retreats, team building activities, etc.).

    Service Delivery Oversight & Compliance (10% of time)

    • Provide executive oversight of clinical operations in partnership with the Clinic Manager.
    • Oversee programmatic offerings in collaboration with the Program Coordinator.
    • Ensure compliance with state behavioral health regulations, funder requirements, Medicaid and insurance requirements, HIPAA, OSHA, and other applicable standards.
    • Provide supervision of team members overseeing daily clinic operations and community services.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Fluency in both English and Spanish with the ability to communicate professionally in both languages with community members and organizational stakeholders.
    • A persuasive and passionate communicator who builds strong relationships and collaborates effectively across disciplines.
    • Deep, trusted connections within Oregon’s Latine communities.
    • Demonstrated leadership experience in a nonprofit, healthcare, behavioral health, or community-based organization.
    • High-level understanding of clinical operations, Medicaid and commercial insurance billing, and regulatory compliance (including for state and federal agencies).
    • Demonstrated success in financial management, fundraising, and building strategic partnerships.
    • Deep commitment to culturally responsive, community-centered care for the Latine community, rooted in partnership with Latine communities.
    • Strong understanding of systemic oppression, health equity, and social justice, with a commitment to continuing learning and embedding these practices into organizational culture.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Experience engaging with Boards of Directors and diverse stakeholders in shared decision-making.
    • Master’s or advanced degree in behavioral health, public health, healthcare administration, nonprofit management, or a related field.
    • Experience in working alongside Traditional Health Workers and a strong commitment to continued education in health equity and community liberation.

    Base Salary: The base salary range for this role is $135,000 - $150,000. Candidates with a mental health professional license and/or significant experience providing direct mental health services are eligible for an additional 10% for the starting base salary range ($148,500 - $165,000).

    Level of Language Proficiency

    Raíces is committed to hiring bilingual and bicultural healthcare providers and other team members to deliver programming to our community and expand the culturally specific mental health supports and resources available in Oregon. We employ highly trained, Spanish-speaking clinicians and other team members with culturally relevant training to ensure our services are culturally affirming.

    Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
