    Description

    Community Legal Aid (CLA) seeks a Development Associate to work in its Worcester office.

    ORGANIZATION: CLA provides free civil legal services to low-income and elderly residents of central and western Massachusetts. CLA has a talented development team that supports the organization by soliciting donations, writing grants, lobbying for state funding, and overseeing marketing and communications to the community.

    POSITION: The Development Associate will provide administrative support to all functions of the development team, helping to enhance and support CLA's communications and fundraising activities.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Maintain donor database (Salesforce.com), ensuring data accuracy and system integrity. Serve as point-person for database management, customization and upkeep.

    Process timely gift acknowledgement letters, manage gift processing and assist with financial reconciliations.

    Play a key role in developing and maintaining donor stewardship processes to increase engagement and connection

    Configure and manage database query and reporting; understand and recommend best practices as result of analysis.

    Assist in the mailing of appeals, newsletters, and annual reports.

    Help implement donor cultivation, celebration and solicitation events.

    Conduct grant and individual prospect research.

    Maintain and update website.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    BA or BS degree required.

    Fundraising and communications experience preferred.

    Strong personal work ethic and ability to problem solve, organize time, manage diverse activities, and meet deadlines.

    Excellent writing, editing, and proof-reading skills and very detail-oriented.

    Demonstrated ability to be entrusted with sensitive information.

    Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with a team.

    Experience with database management and a dedication to data integrity, systems and upkeep.

    Experience with Excel strongly preferred

    Experience with web management with a preference for WordPress experience.

    Understanding of and commitment to CLA's social justice mission.

    SALARY: $47,500-$60,000, DOE. CLA offers a very generous benefits package that includes 401(k) with employer-paid contribution; low-cost health insurance (medical, dental, and vision) for employees and their dependents; paid leave (4 weeks vacation, 3 personal days, 12 sick days, and 13 holidays); and relocation stipend. CLA has a hybrid workplace (3 days in the office per week). Part-time hours negotiable. EEO
