Position Description
The Ride Programs Coordinator has the principal responsibility for matching Rides for Seniors and Rides 4 Veterans member ride requests with drivers (Volunteers or Paid) by Friday and follow up to ensure all rides were completed safely and in a timely manner. This position reports to the CEO.
Qualifications/Experience
- High school graduate/college preferable.
- California driver’s license/Clean DMV for 5 years.
- Experience working with volunteers.
- Experience working with seniors and individuals with disabilities.
- Experience with customer service.
- Familiarity with multiple transportation modalities.
- Knowledge of mobility management principles and guidelines.
Physical Qualifications
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching.
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment and a motor vehicle.
- Requires normal range of hearing, eyesight, and speech.

- English speaking (bilingual, a plus).
- Helpful to know cities and main driving arterials in Contra Costa County.
- Detail oriented; ability to multitask under pressure and time constraints.

- Reliable, flexible, and organized.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with diverse populations.
- Self-starter with initiative and confidence.
- Advanced computer competence (Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with Mobility Matters staff, volunteers, and members.
- Contact drivers by email and phone to match with rides requested by members.
- Collect ride reports and grocery receipt information and ensure that database is up to date.
- Supervise volunteer and paid drivers.
- Manage the Mobility Matters grocery program.
- Update and maintain confidential driver profiles in the database.
- Compile and report monthly program statistics for reporting and billing purposes.
- Respond to urgent cell phone calls from drivers.
- Directly provide rides when drivers are not available, time permitting.
- Assist in emergency events with contacting affected drivers, members, and monitoring situation.
- Assist at senior fairs, etc. to help with volunteer driver recruitment, when available.
- Keep the CEO apprised of member and driver issues to further facilitate all aspects of the program. This will include identifying problem areas and success strategies.
- Perform other related duties as required through self initiative or assigned by the CEO.
