    Position Summary

    The SAG-AFTRA Foundation is seeking a compassionate, highly organized, and mission-driven Social Services Case Manager to support its Emergency Financial Assistance Programs. Reporting to the Director of Assistance, this role provides both case management and administrative services to help SAG-AFTRA members, including individuals, couples, and families, navigate challenges related to financial hardship, health issues, housing insecurity, and more. This position plays a vital role in connecting members with both internal Foundation support and external community resources.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide short-term, crisis-focused case management for SAG-AFTRA members across all ages, addressing urgent needs such as medical or mental health issues, domestic violence, housing instability, and more.
    • Conduct assessments, advocate for Foundation-based financial assistance, create collaborative support plans, and make referrals to nationwide entertainment industry or social service partners.
    • Schedule and conduct intake meetings with applicants via video, phone, or in person to gather financial and personal information.
    • Conduct crisis evaluations as needed and fulfill mandated reporting responsibilities, primarily to Adult Protective Services (APS).
    • Refer members to the Foundation’s professional development offerings, including entertainment career workshops and related services.
    • Maintain and manage applicant data within Salesforce; input and prepare data for weekly financial grant disbursements.
    • Generate daily and weekly reports for the Executive Director.
    • Participate in daily Assistance Team meetings to collaboratively review and strategize support for applicants.
    • Assist in program development initiatives alongside the Financial Assistance Team.
    • Maintain and update the Foundation’s public-facing resource database, listing both local and national support services.
    • Build and nurture partnerships with peer organizations in the entertainment community and broader social services landscape.
    • Ensure accurate documentation and strict confidentiality of all program data and participant records.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience providing direct case management services.
    • Demonstrated empathy and sound professional judgment in supporting individuals through complex, sensitive issues.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills; adept at working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-profile environment with professionalism, diplomacy, and discretion.
    • High degree of organizational skill and attention to detail; able to independently manage time and responsibilities.
    • Technologically proficient with advanced skills in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and general PC use; Salesforce experience is a plus.
    • Analytical capabilities for compiling, interpreting, and presenting data effectively.
    • Spanish fluency is a plus.
    • Familiarity with the unique needs of performing arts and entertainment professionals is strongly preferred.
