The We Animals Photo & Video Editor plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing the quality, consistency, and accessibility of WA’s photos and video content. This role is responsible for making selects, editing visuals to align with WA’s aesthetic and ethical standards, preparing assets and metadata for our Digital Asset Management (DAM) system, and supporting Animal Photojournalist (APJ) development through thoughtful feedback.
As an ideal candidate for this role, you are:
- Excited about WA’s mission. You believe that documenting animal stories produces positive impacts for animals, people, and the planet.
- A strong visual storyteller in both photo and video. You understand how stills and motion work together to support editorial, NGO, and campaign goals.
- Detail-obsessed. You enjoy meticulous work: precise edits, consistent colour, clean audio, accurate metadata, and organized workflows.
- Technically solid. You’re comfortable in Lightroom and Bridge for stills, and with Premiere Pro for video.
- A compassionate communicator. You know how to give and receive feedback in ways that support growth and maintain strong relationships.
- Adaptable and proactive. You’re interested in improving workflows, proposing new ideas, and taking on evolving responsibilities, including the possibility of growing into a more senior editorial role over time.
