    Description

Job Title: Producer / Editor – Short-Form Social Video (North Carolina-based)

Location: Based in North Carolina, with regular travel to the Triangle, Triad, and Charlotte regions

About Siembra NC and Make NC Work

Siembra NC is a grassroots organization building community power and advancing a North Carolina that works for everyone. Our Make NC Work project tells the stories of working people, small businesses, and communities who are coming together to demand dignity, fairness, and opportunity. We use creative, social-first storytelling to reach younger, socially aware audiences and connect them to action.

    About the Role

We are seeking a creative, fast-moving Producer / Editor to co-lead the production of short-form social video content for the Make NC Work project. This person will produce, shoot, and edit short videos (15–90 seconds) that engage audiences on platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts — and, over time, help us expand into longer-form storytelling.

You will be responsible for taking ideas from pitch to finished post: scripting, coordinating in-person shoots, filming, editing, and publishing. You’ll collaborate closely with our campaign and communications teams to turn stories from across the state into compelling, high-impact video that moves people to action.

    Responsibilities

    • Pitch and develop short-form video ideas aligned with Make NC Work’s campaign and storytelling goals.
    • Coordinate and attend in-person shoots across North Carolina, particularly in the Triangle, Triad, and Charlotte, including managing other collaborators like narrators and content capture leads
    • Plan logistics, secure locations, and manage shoot schedules.
    • Shoot interviews, b-roll, and on-the-ground content using mobile and DSLR/mirrorless cameras.
    • Edit videos for TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts using Adobe Premiere (or similar).
    • Add text overlays, motion graphics, and sound design that enhance storytelling for social platforms.
    • Tailor content for each platform and track performance metrics (views, completion rate, shares, comments).
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
    • Stay up to date on social media trends, audio formats, memes, and editing styles that perform well with younger audiences.
    • Over time, take on longer-form video production (10–20 minutes), working with field producers and editors as the project grows.

    Required Qualifications

    • 2+ years of professional experience producing and editing social or digital video content.
    • Proven experience creating short-form video (TikTok, Reels, Shorts) with strong storytelling and pacing.
    • Strong editing skills in Adobe Premiere or comparable software.
    • Ability to shoot video independently, including setup, lighting, and sound.
    • Organized, self-directed, and comfortable managing logistics for field shoots.
    • Willingness and ability to travel regularly within North Carolina.
    • Strong understanding of what engages younger, socially aware audiences.
    • Excellent communication and time-management skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bilingual Spanish/English
    • Experience producing content for a social-first newsroom or advocacy campaign.
    • Familiarity with motion graphics, After Effects, or Canva.
    • Understanding of analytics and using data to refine video strategy.
    • Experience with both short-form and longer-form documentary or campaign storytelling.

    Compensation and Benefits

Competitive salary range of $71,500–$84,500 depending on experience, with benefits, including fully employer-paid health insurance for staff and 100% coverage for dependents, paid time off (PTO), remote office set up, monthly stipend of $100 for phone and internet, and mileage reimbursement for travel.
