MEDLIFE is a non-profit organization that partners with low-income communities in Latin America and Africa to improve their access to medicine, education, and community development projects. Our mission is to build a worldwide Movement empowering the poor in their fight for equal access to healthcare, education, and a safe home. Our vision is a world free from the constraints of poverty. Our ideal Freelance Obstetrician Professional
We’re looking for a passionate advocate who has an immediate connection to our mission and vision. We need storytellers that can elevate the voice of community members in developing countries. We need community organizers, who will rally groups together to fight for our cause, make positive connections, and build relationships with ease. About the role
We’re looking for a new talent to work hand in hand with volunteers, staff, and communities, and provide healthcare services to low-income patients at MEDLIFE Mobile Clinics in vulnerable communities in Lima. By achieving that, you will contribute to one of MEDLIFE core focuses by providing access to quality health to low-income patients.
What will your day-to-day look like at MEDLIFE?
- Provide outpatient obstetrician consultancy to patients in mobile medical campaigns (in vulnerable communities in Lima) to be carried out 3 times a week or as required.
- Conduct pap smear (papanicolau) and breast exams to patients in our mobile clinics.
- Issue the pertinent medical prescriptions according to the patient's diagnosis.
- Interact with the volunteers in the questions they may have.
- Complete and present the report of patients attended following the internal guidelines of the organization.
What will you bring?
- University Degree in Obstetrician accredited by the institution of Obstetrician in Peru.
- 2+ years of work experience as a graduated Obstetrician.
- Advanced-level English skills required.
- Must have a valid license (colegiatura) to work as an Obstetrician in Peru.
- Work experience in the field caring for patients in rural communities.
- Be a professional committed to social development.
- Knowledge of local agencies, community programs, and services.
- Live in Lima, Peru.
