    Description

    What We Need

Cascade Bicycle Club is seeking to hire a Youth Development Fulfillment Coordinator. This newly developed position will report to the Youth Development Partnership Manager, and will support the dynamic and unique needs of a statewide initiative to teach youth to power themselves to their destinations through the joy of cycling.

The Youth Development Fulfillment Coordinator serves as a bridge between Cascade’s Grant Management Team and Procurement & Distribution Team to ensure that Youth Development Grant recipients, or “partners”, have the equipment they need to deliver high-quality bicycle programming to middle and high school aged youth across Washington state.

This position contributes to the success of Cascade’s Statewide Bicycle Education programs through timely acquisition, assembly, and delivery of bicycles and other equipment needed by Statewide Youth Development Partners throughout Washington state. This position will further bolster program success by supporting training sessions for Statewide partners on basic bike maintenance and as-needed assistance with Statewide In-class Program supply needs.

    Who We Are/What We Do

Cascade Bicycle Club, the nation's largest statewide bicycle nonprofit, is 9,500-members, 56-years old, and 52-staff strong, serving bike riders of all ages and abilities throughout the state of Washington. We teach the joys of bicycling, advocate for safe places to ride, and produce community rides and events. Our signature programs include the Seattle to Portland ride, the Pedaling Relief Project, advocacy for connected trail networks and on-street bike networks in Seattle and across the Puget Sound Region, Free Group Rides, Adult Classes, Let's Go, and the Major Taylor Project.

Washington Bikes promotes the health, safety, environmental, and economic benefits of bicycling. We advocate for people who bike, endorse political candidates, and hold officials accountable. We collaborate with community members and public officials to shape policies and investments in active transportation that create equitable, sustainable, and thriving communities across Washington state.

    DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:

The Education team shares the joy of cycling with learners of all ages. We are dedicated to creating, sharing, and improving programs that are inclusive, impactful, and responsive to our diverse community.

We strive to facilitate opportunities for students to become participants in communities of learning that foster empowerment and joy, where the bicycle is a tool for transformation. We commit to a spirit of continuous improvement in both our teaching practice and program development. We believe in the fundamental concept of inclusion and commit to serving all students well by making decisions that prioritize equitable access and support community goals.

Within the Education department, this position will work within the Statewide School-Based Grant team. The Statewide School-Based Bicycle Education Program, created as part of Move Ahead Washington legislation, includes two programs: One for elementary and middle school students (grades 3-8) to be implemented in school physical education classes, and another for middle and high school youth (grades 6-12) to be implemented out of school or after school. The latter program is known as the Youth Development Program and is the focus of the work in this role.

    Our Values:

    • Equity - We lead with a racial equity lens to eliminate inequities in community health outcomes and in mobility and transportation access. Bicycles are a tool for liberation.
    • Climate Justice & Clean Air - Bicycles are a clean, healthy, and affordable solution to help solve the climate crisis, clean our air, reduce transportation pollution, and create sustainable communities.
    • Community We create opportunities for people to come together by removing barriers and fostering a sense of belonging. Bicycles are an integral part of creating connected, equitable and thriving communities.
    • Safety - Safety is a right; we champion spaces that foster physical and emotional wellbeing.
    • Collaboration - We share power, resources, and knowledge as a means to enrich lives and form mutually beneficial partnerships. We celebrate the existing strengths of our partners and participants and seek to be an accessible asset for others.
