Development Coordinator Position
Ms. JD is seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized, and mission-aligned Development Coordinator to power the day-to-day engine of our fundraising operations. This role is responsible for CRM administration, prospect research, pipeline tracking, proposal development, donor acknowledgments, reporting, and sponsor deliverables. The Development Coordinator converts strategy into consistent action and airtight follow-through—ensuring that every donor touchpoint reflects Ms. JD's commitment to excellence and gratitude.

Position Description
The Development Coordinator supports the full lifecycle of fundraising operations—from prospect identification through stewardship and renewal. This role ensures data integrity, timely communications, and seamless coordination across the development function. The Development Coordinator works closely with the Senior Director of Programs & Development to execute fundraising strategies across multiple revenue channels, including corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, and individual giving. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Pipeline Management & Prospecting
- Research and qualify corporate, law firm, foundation, and individual prospects; build targeted lists and outreach sequences aligned with organizational strategy.
- Manage the full cycle of prospect tracking, from initial identification through cultivation and solicitation, ensuring timely movement through the pipeline.
- Draft sponsorship proposals, pitch decks, grant LOIs/applications, and renewal materials; coordinate with the Senior Director and President & CEO for high-level asks.
- Prepare talking points, briefing materials, and background research to support solicitation meetings led by the Senior Director and President & CEO.
- Coordinate with internal and external partners on joint fundraising projects and sponsorship opportunities.
Donor & Sponsor Operations
- Own CRM data integrity, gift entry, pledge tracking, and timely acknowledgments; manage mailing lists, segmentation, and tax receipts.
- Implement and maintain technology solutions to manage all aspects of the fundraising cycle, including donor database optimization and reporting tools.
- Produce weekly pipeline reports, monthly dashboards, and post-event sponsor reports; track and report progress, goals, and issues to the Senior Director and CEO.
- Monitor benefit delivery and sponsor fulfillment; flag issues proactively and troubleshoot as needed.
- Traffic sponsor logos, ads, and activation needs; coordinate deliverables with the Events & Experiences Manager for in-person and virtual events.
Donor & Sponsor Stewardship
- Manage day-to-day sponsor and donor communications, ensuring timely and professional responses.
- Execute donor communications including appeals, updates, impact stories, and newsletters in coordination with the Senior Director and President & CEO.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with sponsors and donors, serving as a primary point of contact for routine inquiries and fulfillment matters.
- Support cultivation events and donor activations, including logistics coordination for small-scale donor gatherings and receptions.
Grants & Compliance
- Maintain a comprehensive grants calendar; track deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements.
- Compile attachments, budgets, outcomes data, and narrative reports for grant applications and funder reports.
- Track restricted funds and ensure compliance with grant requirements and organizational policies.
- Monitor and ensure timely completion of all sponsor and funder deliverables.
Development Events Support
- Coordinate logistics for donor-focused events, including preparation of event materials, guest lists, and run-of-show documents.
- Support the execution of fundraising events, including the Limitless Awards & Gala, sponsor receptions, and cultivation dinners.
- Prepare briefing materials and logistics documents for speakers, awardees, and VIP guests at development events.
- Conduct post-event follow-up including thank-you communications, attendee tracking, and data entry.
Committee & Administrative Support
- Staff the Development Committee of the Board, including scheduling, agenda preparation, meeting materials, minutes, and follow-up action items.
- Support Board training and engagement on fundraising activities as directed by the Senior Director.
- Prepare contact reports, briefing memos, and meeting summaries for donor and prospect interactions.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical files for all development activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional experience in nonprofit development, fundraising operations, or sales operations.
- Hands-on experience with CRM/database systems (e.g., DonorPerfect or similar) and proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets including mail merges, pivot tables, and basic reporting.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to draft compelling proposals, appeals, and acknowledgment letters.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities with consistent follow-through.
- Clear, professional interpersonal skills—comfortable communicating with donors, sponsors, board members, and diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to problem-solve, anticipate challenges, and develop backup plans to keep work on track.
- Commitment to Ms. JD's mission of supporting women in law and fostering equity in the profession.
Preferred:
- Experience with grant writing or foundation relations
- Familiarity with event sponsorship fulfillment and activation
- Experience supporting board or committee operations
- Experience in the legal sector, women's leadership organizations, or professional associations
Position Details:
- Reports to: Senior Director of Programs & Development
- Collaborates with: President & CEO; Events & Experiences Manager; Executive Assistant; Programs Coordinator
- Location: This position is fully remote and open to employees in all U.S. locations, with the exception of Washington State.
- Travel: Occasional travel for flagship events and donor activations (approximately 2–4 times per year)
This is a full-time exempt position. The salary range for this position is $60,000 -$72,000 and is commensurate with experience. Benefits include up to 16 weeks of paid parental leave, five weeks of paid time off and 11 paid holidays.
Probationary Period:
This position is subject to a six-month probationary period. During this time, the employee's performance, skills, and alignment with organizational needs will be evaluated. Successful completion of the probationary period will be required for continued employment.
