    Description

    About Dignity Matters

Dignity Matters is an award-winning Massachusetts-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides menstrual care, bras, and underwear to women and girls in need. We serve over 18,000 women each month through a network of more than 180 partner organizations — including shelters, food pantries, schools, and community centers.

Our mission is to fight period poverty and ensure that women and girls have consistent access to the menstrual care and undergarments they need to live with dignity and confidence. We believe that managing one’s period should never be a barrier to education, employment, or self-worth.

    Position Overview

The Account and Distribution Manager plays a vital role in ensuring that Dignity Matters delivers high-quality, individualized, and compassionate support to our service partners across Massachusetts.

This position requires both logistical skill and empathy — the ability to talk openly and comfortably about menstruation and to understand the unique needs of women experiencing period poverty. You’ll discuss menstrual care with community partners daily, determining the right mix of pads, tampons, reusable products, incontinence items, and undergarments to meet each partner’s needs.

The role includes managing partner relationships, overseeing product preparation and distribution, coordinating volunteers, and ensuring all operations reflect Dignity Matters’ mission and attention to detail.

You’ll join a small, collaborative team of women dedicated to making a tangible difference for others — and to supporting each other in meaningful, mission-driven work.

Because this position involves managing detailed relationships, learning complex distribution systems, and understanding our product mix, we are seeking someone interested in a long-term role and committed to growing with Dignity Matters. The previous Account and Distribution Manager was with the organization for seven years, reflecting the stability and fulfillment this position offers.

    Key Responsibilities

    Partner Relations & Communications (35%)

    • Manage and nurture relationships with existing service partners to ensure accurate and compassionate delivery of menstrual care and undergarments.
    • Discuss, in depth, each partner’s client needs — including types and quantities of menstrual care, reusable menstrual products, incontinence items, bras, and underwear.
    • Develop relationships with new partners and ensure smooth onboarding using established procedures (the organization already has a long waiting list).
    • Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from potential partners.
    • Gather and maintain regular feedback, testimonials, and photos to support fundraising, communications, and storytelling.
    • Prepare and send timely reminders for upcoming distributions.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date partner records.

Distribution Management, Logistics & Product Packing (50%)

    • Spend a minimum of two days per week in the Westborough warehouse/office to prepare products for distribution, oversee packing, and coordinate volunteer support in conjunction with the Warehouse Manager.
    • Organize and coordinate timely distribution of in-kind products in line with Dignity Matters’ mission and strategic plan.
    • Adjust distribution plans as needed, in consultation with the Executive Director, based on partner needs, product availability, and organizational priorities.
    • Participate in all distribution days (three days every two months; schedule set in advance) and assist with logistics as needed.
    • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Warehouse Manager to ensure product availability, order fulfillment, and inventory planning.
    • Participate hands-on in product packing and preparation in a clean, organized, climate-controlled warehouse.
    • Safely lift and move boxes up to 20 pounds as part of warehouse operations.

    Reporting & Recording (15%)

    • Provide accurate data on distributions and partner activity to support grants and fundraising.
    • Record all distributions in Dignity Matters’ inventory system with precision.
    • Participate in occasional presentations or meetings to raise awareness of Dignity Matters’ mission.
    • Represent Dignity Matters professionally during partner visits and community events.
    • Attend two to three Board meetings per year (held via Zoom).

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, account management, logistics, operations, or a related field.
    • Comfort discussing menstruation and menstrual care products with empathy and professionalism.
    • Strong understanding of women’s health and hygiene needs, or willingness to learn.
    • Highly reliable, dependable, and self-motivated.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Hands-on, team-oriented approach with the ability to work collaboratively and independently.
    • Friendly, approachable, and compassionate personality.
    • Ability to safely lift and move boxes up to 20 pounds and assist with product packing (light physical work; best suited for an active person comfortable being on their feet for several hours).
    • Experience coordinating volunteers or managing logistics preferred.
    • Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for partner site visits (required).
    • Passion for Dignity Matters’ mission and commitment to supporting women and girls in need.
    • Must not be allergic to dogs (dog-friendly office).

    Work Schedule

    • 3 days per week (part-time).
    • 2 mandatory in-office/warehouse days in Westborough, MA (Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays, 9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.).
    • 1 flexible remote day (hours can be split across multiple days).
    • 1 monthly visit to a partner organization within Massachusetts.
    • Some flexibility required around major distribution or volunteer event days.
