    Description

    Japan Society seeks an engaging and proactive Part-Time Visitor Engagement Associate to serve as a key ambassador at our bustling visitor services desk. This role is central to ensuring every guest, member, donor, and caller has a seamless and welcoming experience.

    As the first point of contact, you will greet visitors, provide insightful information about our diverse programs and exhibitions, handle ticket sales, and champion the benefits of membership. Beyond the front desk, this role offers the opportunity to cross-train and provide valuable support during scheduled shifts for our dynamic gallery exhibitions and special events, gaining broader exposure to Japan Society's vibrant activities.

    Responsibilities:

    • Serve as a warm and knowledgeable ambassador, greeting guests and answering inquiries about Japan Society's programs, exhibitions, membership, and policies.
    • Efficiently process ticket orders, gallery admissions, and membership sales using our ticketing system.
    • Maintain accurate visitor and member records, ensuring data integrity within our database.
    • Manage incoming phone calls, directing inquiries appropriately with professionalism and discretion.
    • Handle light clerical duties and package acceptance as needed.
    • Stay consistently informed about current and upcoming events, promotions, and organizational updates.
    • Monitor the lobby environment, proactively addressing visitor needs and liaising with appropriate staff for security or facility matters.
    • Assist with related visitor service projects and activities as assigned.
    • Cross-train to provide support during scheduled shifts for gallery operations and special events, assisting with check-in, wayfinding, and guest services as needed.

    Level of Language Proficiency

    Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Japanese or another language is a plus.
