    Who We Seek

    We are looking for four (2 in Orlando, 2 in Miami) dedicated, culturally sensitive, and community-oriented individuals to join our team as a Health Promoter for the Diabetes, Heart Health, and Multiple Sclerosis program. Health promoters are responsible for conducting community outreach, completing trainings and workshops for community members, and tracking their participation by completing reporting for Hispanic Federation.

    The program's goal is to connect with at least 750 people over 6 months per promoter through workshops, health fairs, community presentations, and one-on-one interactions. Health Promoters will follow program materials and guidelines, maintain regular communication with the HF program manager to report impact and follow-up data, and demonstrate a strong commitment to diabetes prevention, cardiovascular health, multiple sclerosis awareness, and the promotion of healthy lifestyle habits.

    Position Location: Orlando, Florida

    Reports to: Office and Operations Manager

    Rate of Pay: $20 per hour

    Schedule: Up to 10 hours per week, the program runs from February 2026 and is expected to conclude by August 2026, at the latest.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Coordinate and complete required community outreach & diabetes trainings
    • Participate in, organize, or- promote health fairs and tabling events related to diabetes or heart health awareness
    • Identify and enroll community members in Hispanic Federation’s health contact database, focused on chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and other related conditions
    • Present to groups on diabetes education and diabetes prevention material, engage one-on-one with eligible community members
    • Refer participants to the Office and Operations Administrator that will require follow up services including but not limited to, healthcare provider services, health screenings, or nutrition programs
    • Track and report participant engagement and other outreach data as required
    • Communicate regularly on outreach and enrollment progress to identify potential points of improvement

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Some experience with community outreach or similar field of work
    • Ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish
    • Experience with health-related work or with case management is a plus
    • Must be able to work standing and while moving actively
    • Comfortable with being outdoors and willingness to deal with outdoor weather as needed
    • Interest in community outreach initiatives and community advocacy
    • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully to community members
    • Able to stay organized in fast paced face to face settings and can lift up to 15-20 pounds
