    Description

Womankind uses the multidimensionality of our Asian heritage to work alongside survivors of gender-based violence as they build a path to healing. We are working tirelessly to create a future where we Rise Above Violence and our communities can innovate towards collective well-being, restoration, and social justice. In addition to promoting healing and safety through service provision, Womankind promotes gender justice through research, coalition building, policy analysis, and community education and mobilization.

The AmeriCorps VISTA Member will strengthen the long‑term capacity of Womankind’s Development Department by improving fundraising systems, including gift processing, database management, donor stewardship, monthly reconciliation, and outreach events. Their work will expand fundraising pipelines, increase donor engagement, and boost visibility to sustain culturally responsive, trauma‑informed services for survivors. By enhancing data processes and community partnerships, the Member will help improve donor retention, deepen community involvement, and support Womankind’s long‑term sustainability for Asian, immigrant, and other underserved survivors.

    Essential Functions

    • Strengthen Womankind’s development operations by improving internal systems for donor data management, gift processing, monthly reconciliation, and performance tracking to increase fundraising efficiency and impact
      • Support the maintenance and optimization of Womankind’s donor database (CRM), DonorPerfect, including data entry and import, deduplication, record updates, and creating reports for data analysis and checking data integrity
      • Assist with gift processing, donor acknowledgment letters, and reconciliation efforts in coordination with the finance and development teams
      • Help track pledges, in-kind gifts, and matching contributions to maintain accurate fundraising records
    • Enhance Womankind’s fundraising and community engagement efforts by supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of the annual gala and other signature events throughout the year
      • Assist in the planning and logistics of Womankind’s annual gala, the largest fundraising event of the year
      • Support the execution of smaller-scale fundraising and community events by assisting with event logistics and planning efforts (i.e. volunteer management, RSVP tracking, etc.)
      • Contribute to post-event data entry, acknowledgments, and reporting by updating the donor database with attendance and engagement notes. Assist with event evaluations and help document best practices to strengthen future event planning and donor stewardship efforts.
    • Strengthen Womankind’s donor care infrastructure by creating and implementing consistent processes for writing, tracking, and delivering gift acknowledgment letters and other stewardship communications that support donor retention and long‑term fundraising growth
      • Draft, personalize, and distribute timely gift acknowledgment letters for all donations, ensuring accuracy and alignment with Womankind’s mission, brand voice, and donor stewardship standards
      • Maintain and update “moves management” and donor records in the CRM by logging gifts, acknowledgment status, and donor communication history to support accurate tracking and improved stewardship workflows
      • Develop and refine donor care tools, such as acknowledgment templates, stewardship calendars, and follow‑up workflows, to strengthen long‑term donor engagement and enhance Womankind’s capacity to retain supporters

This is a requirement set by AmeriCorps.

    Schedule

The start date for this position is March 9, 2026 and may be subject to change, depending on AmeriCorps’ flexibility, availability, and federal budget to place a candidate.

This position is a full-time commitment (40 hours/week) and lasts for one year (12 consecutive months). The VISTA will work a schedule of Monday-Friday, 9 am-5 pm or 10 am-6 pm. For the first month, VISTAs will be expected to be in-person 2-3 times a week. After the first month, VISTAs can transition to a hybrid schedule of 2 days in person and 3 days remote, although this will be at the discretion of the direct VISTA supervisor. Members in school must have their courses approved by their direct VISTA supervisor to ensure no overlap between classes and VISTA service. Please note, AmeriCorps is a federally funded program, and federal changes may impact programming (such as government shutdowns).
