    Description

    The New Hampshire Timberland Owners Association (NHTOA) is seeking an individual to build the organization’s financial capacity and membership. The successful candidate for this year-round, part-time position (20 hours a week) will implement a development and membership plan to retain existing members, recruit new members, and attract financial support. This position is ideal for someone seeking a flexible work schedule that allows remote work.

    The successful candidate will be a professional with experience in fundraising, capital/endowment campaigns, and membership recruitment for nonprofit organizations. Although an NHTOA employee, the person in this unique position also will work to provide financial support for the New Hampshire Timberland Owners Education Foundation (NHTOF), the NHTOA’s educational 501(c)(3); and for New Hampshire Project Learning Tree (NHPLT), which provides the NHTOA’s environmental educational programming. This position will support these organization’s promotion of working forests, responsible forest management, and a strong forest industry. Specifically, this position will,

    • Retain existing membership
    • Recruit new members
    • Attract financial support from individual, corporate, and foundation donors
    • Assist with grant writing

    Level of Language Proficiency

    • Ability to work independently and as a member of the NHTOA team.
    • Excellent written and spoken communications skills.
    • Experience with all aspects of development and membership retention/recruitment for nonprofit organizations.
    • Understand the development and use of a donor database.
    • Five or more years’ work experience.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and electronic communications.
