    Description

    The Arc of Massachusetts seeks a part-time bookkeeper to join a great group of dedicated professionals and volunteers working to help improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.

    Days and Hours: Our hours are from 9:00 am to 5:00 p.m. (with some flexibility) on Monday through Friday. The position will range from 5 to 6 hours per day - 25-30 hours per week. Pay range $25-30 based on experience.

    Purpose of the Job: To provide Bookkeeping at a non-profit organization. Ensure accurate posting to multiple Cost Centers and Grants, including Government Grants.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Support the Director of Finance & HR with administrative, bookkeeping, clerical, accounts payable and accounts receivable duties.
    • Receive, process and record invoices using QuickBooks Online Nonprofit version accounting software and CRM donor systems.
    • Cut checks, prepare accounting and donor reports and maintain accounts payable and receivable ledgers.
    • Prepare monthly dues invoices for Chapters. Follow up with any past-due invoices to Chapters and others.
    • Process consultant invoices, employee expense reports and communicate with vendors and different departments in the organization to resolve outstanding payments and clarify issues related to accounting policies and procedures.
    • Assist with Account reconciliations at the end of the month.
    • Help with administrative tasks across The Arc as needed.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Non-profit accounting/bookkeeping experience is required
    • Experience with the nonprofit version of QuickBooks Online is required
    • Experience with Microsoft Excel and accounting software is required
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently while asking questions and for help when unsure.
    • Ability to commute to our Waltham, MA office daily.
