    Description

    The Partnership & Development Manager will play a critical role in advancing our mission by expanding our reach and securing financial support through both philanthropy and earned revenue. This individual will be responsible for selling our training services to organizations that work with children as well as cultivating relationships with donors, foundations, and corporate partners. The ideal candidate is a persuasive communicator, passionate about child protection, and skilled in both business development and fundraising.

    Key Responsibilities

    Partnership Development & Sales

    • Promote and directly sell our training programs to entities such as child-serving nonprofit organizations (including arts, sports, dance, after-school, mentorship); public, private and boarding schools; daycare facilities; corporations that send volunteers to child-serving organizations; and municipalities and hospital systems that serve children directly.
    • Develop relationships with indirect clients such as foundations and government entities that fund child-serving organizations; child-serving collaboratives; and membership organizations.
    • Explore how organizations can help us spread the word about BBF and can directly influence buying behavior. These may include insurance companies, banks and associations, such as the National Association of Independent Schools.
    • Develop tailored presentations and proposals to demonstrate the value of our services.
    • Negotiate contracts and ensure successful onboarding of partner organizations.

    Fundraising & Donor Relations

    • Identify, cultivate, and solicit donations from individuals, foundations, and corporate sponsors in the tri-state area and beyond.
    • Develop and manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects.
    • Contribute to grant writing efforts, including researching funding opportunities, writing proposals, and ensuring compliance with all funding requirements.
    • Manage and oversee donor engagement activities and events, including planning, logistics, and donor engagement strategies.
    • Monitor and evaluate fundraising initiatives, providing regular reports on progress, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to align fundraising efforts with marketing and communication strategies.
    • Advocate for the organization in community settings and represent the Beau Biden Foundation at relevant events, conferences and meetings.

    Strategy & Collaboration

    • Work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Operating Officer to set revenue goals and track progress.
    • Collaborate with program staff to align offerings with partner needs.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Liberal Arts, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
    • 3+ years of experience in sales, partnership development or fundraising.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with varied audiences.
    • Strong persuasive communication and negotiation skills.
    • Proven ability to meet or exceed revenue targets.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Familiarity with nonprofit sector preferred.
    • Ability to travel as needed.

    • Proficiency in M365 (SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Experience with donor management systems such as Bloomerang, or similar platforms
    • Ability to analyze and interpret data to inform strategies and decision-making
