Apex for Youth empowers underserved Asian and immigrant youth from low-income families in NYC to unlock their potential and a world of possibility. Through programming focusing on health and well-being, education, and community engagement, Apex for Youth creates transformative social connections and celebrates cultural identity to build the confidence and self-efficacy of future generations.
Apex serves approximately 2,500 students annually from Kindergarten through their post-secondary years. We provide children and young adults with opportunities to develop strong relationships with adults who volunteer as consistent and caring mentors and role models.
POSITION SUMMARY
Apex engages close to 1,000 volunteers per year in our recurring and one-off programs and events. The Volunteer Senior Manager is responsible for managing the overall volunteer experience and pipeline at Apex. This is a highly collaborative role, and will work closely with program staff who directly manage year-long volunteers, the development team who manage one-off volunteers, and the marketing team.
The Volunteer Senior Manager will be responsible for leading Apex’s organization-wide volunteer management processes. The Senior Manager will also create and manage the volunteer training and onboarding process, work closely with the program team to manage the volunteer experience once placed in Apex programs, collaborate with the development team to manage the corporate volunteer process, and work with the marketing team to recruit volunteers and share volunteer experiences externally. The Volunteer Senior Manager will also serve as the point person between the program department and outside stakeholders such as the Associate Board in order to achieve volunteer recruitment and retention goals. The Associate Board is a group of young professionals dedicated to fundraising for Apex, supporting volunteer recruitment and retention, and marketing the organization to new supporters.
The Volunteer Senior Manager will report to the Deputy Director of Programs.

OVERVIEW OF BENEFITS
