    Description

    Achievable Health is at an exciting moment of transformation as we are nearing the finish line on our $4M capital campaign and prepare to open the new state-of-the-art Achievable Health Lovelace Center. This facility represents a powerful opportunity to showcase what makes our approach to care unique and impactful.

    While our event fundraising has historically centered around our annual Its Achievable Gala, we are seeking a creative, events-driven fundraiser to reimagine what’s possible, leveraging our new space, momentum, and vision to build innovative donor experiences.

    ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW

    Achievable Health’s mission is to provide high-quality healthcare to our community, with a specialty in treating individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

    SALARY:$68,640 - $74,000 DOE

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Reporting to the Development and Communications Director, the Development and Communications Manager will be responsible for co-designing, overseeing, and executing Achievable Health’s donor-facing events, including the Its Achievable Gala, donor cultivation gatherings, and other fundraising events. In addition, the Manager will play a key role in maintaining and growing our donor pipeline through management of Achievable Health’s annual fund.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Event Fundraising & Project Management (50%)

    • Lead sponsorship and fundraising solicitation efforts to raise $200,000+ annually through the It’s Achievable Gala or other revenue-generating events and cultivation concepts; track event success through data collection and performance analysis.
    • Oversee all facets of event planning and execution in partnership with the Director of Development & Communications, ensuring successful timelines and implementation for the Gala and other cultivation events.
    • Acts as the first point of contact for Achievable Health’s donor facing event participants which includes developing authentic relationships with speakers, sponsors, and attendees in order to deepen donor commitments in the long term.
    • In partnership with Development Assistant, create and distribute event printed and digital collateral. Work with the team to produce all promotional materials on time and on budget.
    • Work with internal and external vendors to create innovative event concepts; Design minute-by-minute logistics of the event including event program, flow, and vendor management.
    • Manage event email inboxes, ensuring timely responses to donor inquiries and RSVPs; submit invitations and online donation inquiries as needed.
    • Coordinate registration procedures, track RSVPs, and process event payments.
    • Lead the Development Committee to build volunteer engagement and community input.

    Annual Fund and Communications - 40%

    • In partnership with the Development team, work to design, produce, and distribute annual fund appeal collateral materials including but not limited to the year-end appeal letter, quarterly newsletters, and annual report.
    • Collaborate with the Development team to strengthen social media strategy, engagement, and impact.
    • Build relationships across Achievable Health to identify and engage patients in sharing their story and building support of Achievable Health’s mission. Conduct interviews with patients and community members to generate stories which articulate the impact of Achievable Health.
    • Work with key internal and cross-departmental partners to enhance engagement, solicitation, and stewardship efforts.
    • Maintain and promote Achievable Health’s calendar of events, ensuring timely communication of organizational celebrations and happenings to the public.

    Building new ideas- 10%

    • Serve as a thought partner to the Director of Development & Communications to explore creative ways to grow philanthropy at Achievable Health. Opportunities may include: exploring volunteer opportunities, grateful patient strategies, planned giving society and improving brand awareness and recognition at all times.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 4-5 years events and/or project management experience bringing events from conception/planning stages through to implementation and completion;
    • Must be mission oriented and be able to articulate a strong case for support;
    • Knowledge of moves management, donor retention, and new donor acquisition strategies;
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
    • Strong interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with people from a diverse background;
    • Attention to details and highly organized;
    • Self-starter and able to apply creative approaches to everyday problems;
    • Must be able to work independently as well as work effectively as part of a team;
    • Ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy;
    • Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills;
    • Proficiency with CRM’s (i.e., Arreva), Mass Mailing Platforms (i.e., MailChimp), and Event Registration Systems (i.e.Handbid);
    • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.
