Position Title: Director of Youth Programs
Who is Interaction?
Interaction (formerly Youth Services) has been a highly-respected part of the Windham County of Vermont community since 1972. Our mission: working together to build resilience and be a catalyst for change.
How will I make a difference?
The Director of Youth Programs plays a key role in Interaction’s mission by:
- Providing department oversight regarding an array of programs that relate to support youth and young adults in Windham County.
- Implements best practices to achieve targeted outcomes as required by the department funders.
- Supervise 2-3 Assistant Directors who provide support and coaching of case managers.
- Envisions and oversees the expansion of youth-serving services to the broader community outside the focus of our specific funders.
- Serving as a member of the leadership team at Youth Services and to work collaboratively to further the agency’s mission, vision, and core values.
Your other main responsibilities will include:
- Ensure that the youth-serving programs of the agency operate within, and fully implement, the statutory, regulatory, and policy guidelines of Interaction, and the program’s funders.
- Maintain ongoing communications with community partners and funders.
- Provide strong project management skills to ensure the timely, organized and accurate implementation of current and new initiatives.
- Track community needs and consider or implement changes in programming to better serve participants.
- Adapt and maintain client/program tracking systems for the department.

What are the qualifications for the position?
You can be considered for this position if you meet the following qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Social Work or related field preferred with at least 3 years direct experience or a Bachelor’s Degree in related field with at least 8 years direct service experience providing intensive case management to youth.
- Experience working with youth and families, including crisis situations.
- Experience managing and training staff in a professional work environment.
- Experience providing trauma-informed supervision
- Experience facilitating group meetings and processes.
- Must have excellent and demonstrated organizational, observation and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Advanced computer and analysis skills including experience with web based applications and databases, Microsoft access, excel, word and Google Apps.
