    Fair Housing Counselor

    Location: 605 San Diego St., Oceanside, CA 92058

    Position: Full-Time Fair Housing Counselor

    Compensation: $21 - $25

    About Us

    CSA San Diego County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting social justice and ensuring equal housing opportunities for all. We provide fair housing counseling, education, and advocacy services across San Diego County, helping residents understand and exercise their housing rights.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide counseling and intake for clients experiencing housing discrimination or landlord-tenant issues
    • Manage a caseload of fair housing complaints, conduct interviews, collect evidence, and prepare reports
    • Collaborate with CSA’s Fair Housing Attorney to evaluate cases, support investigations, and assist with case documentation and legal referrals
    • Engage with city officials and municipal partners to support fair housing initiatives, strengthen community relationships, and coordinate responses to housing discrimination issues
    • Deliver fair housing trainings and workshops to tenants, landlords, property managers, and community partners
    • Represent CSA at community meetings and public events to promote fair housing awareness
    • Maintain accurate case documentation and ensure compliance with HUD and local grant requirements
    • Prepare reports, data entries, and referrals to HUD, CRD, or legal partners as needed

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in social services, law, public administration, or related field
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent organization and documentation abilities
    • Comfortable working with diverse populations
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred. You will be speaking to clients in Spanish
    • Familiarity with housing law, civil rights, or case management is a plus
