    Overview

    Make Voters the Donors (MVTD) is hiring a Wisconsin State Director to build robust, cross-partisan support for Voter Dollars in urban and rural areas of the state. Voter Dollars does more than fix campaign finance. It renews the Republic’s founding promise. It fulfills, more strongly than ever, the ideal of a self-governing people, equal in voice, free to choose our leaders and chart our future without interference from special interests.

    Role Description

    This is a full-time, remote role for a WI State Director, but is by no means a desk job. The State Director will engage in community outreach, coordinate with local organizations, and mobilize volunteers across the state. Responsibilities include planning and hosting events, developing and maintaining relationships with community leaders, and advocating to Make Voters The Donors. This role requires someone who is a self-starter and can create a movement from the ground up.

    Job Duties:

    • Develop and execute state-specific tactical plans for citizen engagement.
    • Identify, build, and maintain relationships with local partners, grassroots organizations, and community leaders.
    • Recruit, train, and mobilize volunteers in the movement for Voter Dollars.
    • Implement digital and in-person organizing tactics, including in-person networking, canvassing and contributing to our social media presence.
    • Track data on outreach efforts and adjust tactics accordingly.
    • Represent the organization at local events, coalitions, and public forums.
    • Contribute to communications plan, including both print and digital assets Serve as a bridge between national strategy and local wisdom.

    Qualifications

    • 3-5 years of grassroots organizing, campaign, or advocacy experience.
    • Experience developing and mobilizing volunteers.
    • Strong communication, public speaking, and diplomacy skills. Is known and trusted locally — people return their calls and show up when they ask.
    • Has worked in or alongside faith-based communities, veterans organizations, farming or rural networks, small business or chamber spaces, or other civic institutions.
    • Likes engaging with people who don’t agree politically.
    • Believes the political system is broken — and that everyday citizens should have more power in it.
    • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel 15-20% of the time throughout the state.

    Compensation: $65,000-$85,000 plus benefits, dependent upon experience.

    Who this role is not designed for:

    • Candidates without existing ties to Wisconsin communities.
    • People seeking a purely remote, desk-based role.
    • Applicants whose experience is limited to major urban nonprofit ecosystems.
    • Applicants who do not have a reliable vehicle for statewide travel

    Benefits

    Health reimbursement, home office stipend, 10 paid sick days (unexpected absences), unlimited PTO (planned absences), we observe all federal holidays and also close each year from Christmas Eve through New Year's Day.
