    Description

    Responsibilities

    • Manage the financial tracking and reporting of foundation and government grants
    • Collaborate with TEF Program Department to create grant budgets in accordance with the grant award
    • Monitor expenditure to ensure funds are used according to donor restrictions and program guidelines
    • Maintain grant files, documentation and compliance records in accordance with Audit standards and grant requirements
    • Assist TEF Program department in preparing and submitting timely invoices, monthly reports, reimbursement requests and drawdowns to grantors.
    • Reconcile grant revenue and expenses to the General Ledger monthly
    • Record all grant funding received
    • Responsible for preparation of all grant audit schedules including grant roll forward, grant income and expenses, grant receivable and deferred revenue schedule.
    • Responsible for the general ledgers of assigned Funds with grants, which includes but is not limited to preparing monthly journal entries, recording adjusting journal entries resulting from the annual audit, etc.
    • Perform monthly closings and allocation of expenses
    • Analyze general ledger accounts and investigate variances
    • Prepare monthly inter-fund and bank reconciliations.
    • Prepare monthly cash Flow, and ensure that cash deposited is posted and reconciled daily
    • Prepare and upload wire transfers and related journal entries

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
    • Minimum three (3) years of experience in nonprofit accounting, focusing on grant or fund accounting required
    • Knowledge of restricted fund/grant tracking and familiarity with federal and state grant requirements
    • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) preferred
    • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel required; knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and knowledge of financial systems and enterprise software required. Oracle or NetSuite is preferred
    • Excellent critical thinking and analytical capabilities; excellent attention to detail and accuracy
    • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
    • Ability to multi-task, prioritize work assignments and work independently with minimal supervision
    • Must be a team player; able to handle sensitive and confidential situations with integrity, tact & diplomacy
