    Description

    Nickelsville's democratically organized tiny house villages are in need of a Community Organizer. Responsibilities will include facilitating the weekly all-shelter meeting as well as the weekly village meetings, acting as the contact person between the organization and neighbors, allies, volunteers, government agencies, etc. Nickelsville Organizers are tasked with educating participants about the causes of homelessness and how to solve it (particularly as related to local, state, and national politics. Excellent communication skills are a prerequisite to this job, as the Organizer will be teaching participants the advocacy skills of letter writing and public speaking. This job entails some evening work at the village meetings and occasional events outside typical work hours. Successful applicants MUST have a proven history of working for social and economic justice.
