    Description

    Lifting Hands International (LHI) is a young, dynamic, and resourceful nonprofit focused on providing humanitarian aid to people in need around the globe, with permanent projects in the United States, Greece, Ukraine, Uganda, and active partnerships in a dozen other countries.

    In Utah, one of LHI’s core programs is focused on shipping aid to help people affected by war and natural disasters. This aid is collected, sorted, and organized at our warehouse in American Fork and subsequently shipped via large shipping containers to provide relief to people in need.

    Role Profile

    The warehouse manager will be responsible for collecting, sorting, and organizing aid at the warehouse Monday through Friday. Additionally the manager will oversee volunteers at the warehouse.

    Hours

    Monday - Friday 9am-1pm at the warehouse (Possible additional hours up to full time)

    Pay

    $20/hour

    Main Responsibilities

    Warehouse and Logistics Duties (40%)

    • Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and well-organized facility.
    • Manage incoming donations: receiving and sorting.
    • Develop and maintain efficient storage systems for inventory clarity and easy access.
    • Maintain country-specific needs lists to guide packing and procurement.
    • Assemble and coordinate shipments: packing boxes/pallets based on exact needs lists, labeling clearly, and preparing documentation.
    • Track inventory levels, anticipate shortages, and communicate needs to leadership.
    • Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with all warehouse regulations.
    • Optimize flow of goods to prevent bottlenecks and ensure timely dispatch of humanitarian aid.

    People and Relationship Management (40%)

    • Train and supervise volunteers in sorting, packing, and warehouse tasks.
    • Provide clear instructions and quality standards for boxing, sorting, and labeling aid items.
    • Create a welcoming and motivating environment that supports volunteer engagement.
    • Manage volunteer shifts, attendance, and roles during major donation events or container-loading days.
    • Ensure volunteers follow safety procedures and warehouse best practices.
    • Identify skilled volunteers to serve as team leads during large projects.

    Administration and Reporting (20%)

    • Maintain accurate, up-to-date spreadsheets detailing the contents of every box in each shipment.
    • Prepare simple packing lists for each shipment based on box-level data.
    • Track volunteer information, including roles and contact details
    • Communicate inventory gaps or urgent needs to program leadership
    • Provide periodic summaries (weekly or monthly) of shipments completed and volunteer activity.

    • Ability to work within a team and work well with others
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once and prioritize effectively.
    • Strong communication skills for working with volunteers, donors, and partner organizations.
    • Proficiency with spreadsheets (Google Sheets or Excel), including entering data, organizing lists, and maintaining accurate records.
    • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment and performing light physical labor (lifting boxes, moving inventory).
    • Reliability and consistency—able to manage ongoing warehouse operations with minimal oversight.

    Further Details

    The position will start at a mutually agreed upon date, ideally in December with a two-month probationary period. The starting pay will be $20 per hour, for an average of 20 hrs per week with the potential for full time hours. Other benefits to be discussed during the hiring process.
