    Description

    The Grants Manager role includes the post-award management of a diverse portfolio of community health related grants, contracts and projects, with responsibilities ranging from program implementation and liaising with various funders to reporting and contract compliance, as well as assistance with special projects. This position is within the Institute’s Planning and Development Department whose functions include grant writing, project management, external communications and student placement.

    Requirements

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

    o Act as primary grant manager on various public and private contracts and awards, ensuring grant deliverables are met and the Institute is in compliance with funder expectations and contract terms.

    o Coordinate implementation of grant activities with program staff, confirming assignment of responsibilities, grant expectations, and timeline.

    o Act as the liaison with funders, maintaining positive funder relations, ensuring the appropriate flow of information, and coordinating site visits.

    o Initiate strategies and solutions for unforeseen challenges, bring any persistent concerns to your direct supervisor with proposed solutions.

    o Prepare and submit grant related reports (narrative/data/financial/etc.) and vouchers on time

    o Review financial data, maintain grant budgets and work with grant accountants and the Finance department to track grant related spending, vouchering, and reimbursement.

    o Complete budget preparation, revision and modifications for new and active grants/contracts, as needed.

    o Ensure compliance with contract terms, notifying key players of relevant rules and restrictions, and flagging any new terms that may require involvement from other departments (Administration, Purchasing, etc.) to supervisor, as needed.

    o Prepare and maintain grant-related supporting materials and documentation, with a focus on supporting project coordinators/directors as they meet programmatic milestones.

    o Work closely with Development staff to develop grant proposal and renewals, as needed; ensure renewals are completed on time.

    o Maintain up to date grant related data in SharePoint Active Grants List for your grant portfolio.

    o Generate demographic and clinical reports using Institute electronic health record (EHR) reporting system.

    o Assist in writing, editing, and/or proofreading various written materials produced by the department or for the grant management team.

    o Work with the grants management team to streamline and improve the grant management processes and communication with various departments.

    o Coordinate special projects, as needed.

    o Excellent organizational abilities and initiatives, with ability to manage competing demands and monitor multiple projects.

    o Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

    o Ability to make informed and timely decisions and use sound judgment to prioritize actions.

    o Ability to build internal and external relationships in order to achieve results.

    o Ability to learn and work with various databases.

    o Strong and enthusiastic collaborator.

    o Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite required, and comfortable learning new software (i.e. grant tracking/management).

    EXPERIENCE

    o Bachelor's degree required OR 3 - 5 years of related experience required.

    o Interest in health care and human services a must; experience in the field a plus.
