    Description

    Moms Clean Air Force (Moms) is a community of over 1.6 million moms, dads, and caregivers working together to combat air pollution, including the urgent crisis of our changing climate. We provide our members with reliable information and solutions through online resources, articles, action tools, and on-the-ground organizing.

    We are seeking a highly motivated part-time Public Engagement Consultant to support member cultivation and petition engagement through use of membership software and platforms, drafting of copy to drive advocacy or donations, manage schedules and calendars for delivery, and support enterprise coordination for web posting, social media, etc. This can be a remote role or based in Washington, DC.

    Key Responsibilities

    Membership

    • Support the building and sending of state and national membership emails using Adestra and Utility Admin.
    • Help build donation forms in Classy.
    • Support ThruText management and execution
    • Support SMS broadcast management and execution
    • Help build national and state petitions in EveryAction.
    • Help manage the process/flow of petitions getting translated into Spanish by third party.
    • First draft petition blog posts and tag appropriately for populating issue, state and other pages, plus meta tag for SEO with keywords as determined by manager.
    • Help draft and design membership social media posts and execute community engagement strategies to drive petition signatures via all social platforms.

    Events

    • Help coordinate support staff, volunteers, speakers, materials, and event logistics (travel, vendors, etc) and communications around event planning campaigns for the field program and for on our work on Capitol Hill and in the DC Area.
    • Assist with coordinating photography, live streams, and designing/posting social media for events.
    • Help coordinate virtual and in-person presentations, webinars, panels, and other events. (Manage Streamyard productions, etc.)
    • Conduct community outreach in the DMV area with a particular emphasis on recruiting new Moms Clean Air Force members.
    • Manage the inventory and distribution of materials used in the field and at major national events.
    • Assist with booking travel and handling logistics requests for conferences and meetings as needed.

    Additional

    • Participates in advancing DEI goals in which people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected, included, and empowered to address the environmental and organizational challenges in alignment with Moms Clean Air Force values.
    • Additional relevant duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • High School diploma, Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience or bachelor’s degree in a related field of environmental studies or political science
    • Basic knowledge of and interest in environmental issues.
    • Demonstrated event planning and execution skills with a focus on successfully mobilizing volunteers and partners to turn out to events.
    • Demonstrated social media design, copywriting, and digital community engagement skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
    • Experienced at building posts in WordPress or similar CMS.
    • Exceptional organizational and record keeping skills with attention to detail.
    • Proficient at broadcasting events on social media platforms. Experience with one or more: Streamyard, Canva, CapCut, IG Edit, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Creative Cloud.
    • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Has independent judgment to make decisions on work activities, including identifying and recommending action steps.
    • Demonstrated ability to help document in-person events by working with teammates on hiring/managing photography, videography, etc.
    • Flexible and able to adapt to frequent change and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.
    • Capable of representing Moms Clean Air Force accurately and confidentially when addressing inquiries.
    • Strong computer proficiency, including experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Docs.
    • Demonstrate self-awareness, cultural competency and inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across diverse cultures and backgrounds.
    • Occasional evening and weekend work.

    Compensation

    $5,000 per month plus expenses.
