    Description

    Position Summary:

    GANAS Community Organization is seeking a proactive, organized and student-focused Program Associate to oversee and manage our tutoring services for Latino students in Contra Costa County. This individual will coordinate day-to-day operations, recruit and train tutors, match students with appropriate academic support, and track the effectiveness of the tutoring program to ensure students’ academic success. The Program Associate works with students, school staff, local colleges, outside agencies and community organizations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Recruit, train, and support qualified tutors or volunteers
    • Coordinate scheduling and logistics of tutoring sessions for students across various subjects
    • Match students with appropriate tutors based on academic needs and availability
    • Develop and implement tutor training and ongoing professional development
    • Maintain student and tutor records, including attendance and progress reports
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of tutoring sessions and overall program outcomes
    • Work with the Executive Director, teachers, counselors, and administrators to identify students in need of support
    • Manage the program resources
    • Prepare reports and updates
    • Promote the program through outreach and communication strategies
    • Ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, or related field preferred
    • Experience recruiting and supporting volunteers
    • Experience in tutoring, teaching, or academic support programs
    • Self-starter who is proactive and takes initiative
    • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
    • Experience supervising or mentoring others
    • Proficiency in Google Workspace, and basic data tracking tools
    • Passion for supporting student learning and achievement
    • Must have reliable vehicle to travel to school locations

    Preferred Skills:

    • Bilingual (Spanish)
    • Experience working with diverse student populations
    • Knowledge of K-12 curriculum standards

    Salary:

    $24-$30/hour DOE
