    Description

    Roundabout Theatre Company, the nation’s largest not-for-profit theatre, seeks an organized and personable individual to join the company’s Artistic department as the Artistic Producing Associate. The position reports to the Director of Artistic Producing and is an essential part of Roundabout’s Artistic and Literary work.

    This is some of what the Artistic Producing Associate will do:

    • Coordinate the producing of Artistic department readings and workshops. This can include:
    • Liaising with all artists, making sure all personnel are paid and contracted, creating and updating planning documents, managing and transferring supplies and materials, coordinating artist travel, liaising with stage management, creating and tracking individual reading budgets, tracking guest lists
    • Help run department’s programs and monitor their budgets when necessary. Duties can include:
    • Roundabout Directors Group and Directing Fellowship
    • processing reimbursements, planning events, helping coordinate meetings, managing applications and interviews
    • The Refocus Project – producing readings, reading plays, researching, etc.
    • Supervise an intern/apprentice or fellow, as applicable.
    • Provide support for general Artistic department operations and/or special events and projects
    • Cover/sub for the Assistant to the Artistic Director when necessary

    This is some of what the Artistic Producing Associate should bring:

    • Strong communication skills, with a keen attention to detail
    • 2-3 years of administrative experience in a performing arts setting
    • The ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
    • Experience with payroll, contracts, and budgets
    • Computer savvy at Outlook, Excel, and Word
    • Knowledge of and passion for theatre 
    • Strong writing and critical thinking skills
    • Previous experience working closely with artists
    • The ability to maintain confidential information
    • The ability to work some weekday nights and weekends (notice will always be provided in advance)
    • The ability to work a hybrid schedule, in midtown Manhattan when in person
    • The ability to lift 20 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation. 

    Benefits

    The salary is $52,000 annually plus any overtime for hours worked over 40 in a workweek. This is a full-time position with the standard Roundabout benefits package that includes medical plan, dental, vision, 401k with 5% employer contribution, PTO, LTD, and life insurance.
