    Description

    Culture for One (CFO), founded in 2010, is a non-profit dedicated to helping NYC children in foster care engage with and experience the arts. In an exciting growth stage, we seek a Director of Partnerships to work with us to implement key initiaItives immediately through 2030.

    This newly created role will be instrumental in building and applying an elevated fundraising strategy. The position will be responsible for expanding our donor base, achieving strategic and annual revenue goals, and guiding the way we share our mission and impact externally to power continued growth. This role will report to the Executive Director.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Development, Fundraising, and Cultivation of New PartnerS

    Goal: Grow CFO's annual revenue beyond $1 million/year, by identifying, cultivating, stewarding, and soliciting new corporate partners, foundations, and individual donors.

      • Identify and onboard prospective high-net-worth donors and corporate partners.
      • Work with the Executive Director and team, Board members, current CFO donor base, and Young Professionals Board to identify new sources of funding and build those relationships.
      • Work with the Development team to enhance systematic stewardship of current donors and develop actionable solicitation strategies and outreach materials to grow support from corporations and high-net-worth individuals.
      • Formalize major giving program that includes donor segmentation, giving tiers, stewardship protocols, impact reporting templates, and a framework for growing CFO’s major donor pipeline year after year.

    Special Events

    Goal: Manage and elevate ongoing fundraising events and initiatives and create new ones to grow CFO's support network.

      • Work with team to manage outreach for the Annual Gala, including ticket and sponsorship sales, plus leadership outreach and communications, with support from the CFO team and Board.
    • Identify prospects, develop tailored strategies, and lead year-round cultivation and solicitation efforts, including 1-2 annual cultivation events.

    Communications

    Goal: Work with team to implement strategies for external/internal communication needs (social media, website, broadcast media.)

      • Develop and facilitate a cohesive external narrative.
      • Oversee website content updates, including monthly news and funder spotlights.
      • Oversee creation/updating of marketing materials.

    Desired Qualifications and Attributes

      • B.A. required, with 5+ years of demonstrated success in nonprofit fundraising, with a strong grasp of fundraising best practices.
      • Track record of success in identifying and cultivating major corporate and individual donors and leading successful annual campaigns.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft persuasive, creative, clear, and concise donor communications.
      • Fluency with fundraising technologies and tools (e.g., donor databases, e-mail, social media, and online campaigns) and donor research.
      • Experience with social media content creation and planning.
      • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build strong working relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders.
      • Strong work ethic and impeccable personal integrity and discretion.
      • Deep appreciation for what the arts can mean to underserved children and young adults in our community.
      • Highly motivated self-starter, natural networker, and strategic, innovative thinker.
      • Capacity to thrive in a small organizational environment where adaptability, versatility, time management, and entrepreneurial skills are essential.

    Compensation and Location

      • Salary: $85,000 - $100,000. Salary commensurate with credentials and experience with a benefits package.
      • Location: Two days per week required in the NYC midtown office and flexibility to attend evening donor events and meetings.
