    Description

    Shakespeare Theatre Company, in Washington DC, seeks a Community Learning Manager (CLM). This position is responsible for the programming, hiring, and managing of programs including Adult Classes, Youth & Teen Classes, and Camp Shakespeare. The CLM is responsible for the development and direction of Camp Shakespeare. Duties include developing each semester’s class selection and identifying and hiring all teachers for revenue generating community programs. The CLM works with a range of program constituents including teaching artists, teachers, and STC acting company. Other duties include developing and maintaining all correspondence, contracts, agreements, schedules, reminders and materials; supervising set-up for classes and trainings; and working with our Marketing department to develop marketing and recruitment for a variety of programs. In addition, the Community Learning Manager teaches in Learning programs and special events and supervises performances as needed. This is a full-time hybrid position with excellent benefits and an annual salary of $67,000 - $70,000.

    The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the youth and adult education pedagogy, training and supervisory skills, enjoy working with a creative team, and will have training in theatre. A Bachelor’s degree in Theatre, Theatre Management, Education or a related field is needed, or similar job experience. Ideally, three years of arts administration and/or arts education experience or three years’ experience in public or private schools, with three years as a supervisor is preferred. Skills with accounting, sales, and Outlook, Excel, and Tessitura (or similar ticketing/database programs) are a plus. This is a hybrid position with at least three days onsite required each week.
