At Partners for Public Good (PPG), we believe that when government works, communities thrive. Launched in March 2025, we are a fast-growing nonprofit dedicated to helping state and local governments harness core operational functions – procurement, staffing, digital infrastructure, and budgeting – to drive public impact.

Our journey began in 2011 at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Government Performance Lab, where we set out to transform public procurement. Since then, we’ve worked with hundreds of governments across the country to make their procurement systems more efficient, fair, results-driven, and strategic. In 2022, we launched the Procurement Excellence Network, putting our tools and strategies in the hands of over two thousand public servants.

Role & Organizational Impact

PPG is seeking a proactive, creative, and detail-oriented Program Coordinator to help local governments deliver infrastructure projects that improve daily life — from safer streets to reliable water systems. As part of our Infrastructure Team, you’ll play a key role in how we deliver impact by coordinating projects, leading public-facing communications, and keeping complex workstreams organized and moving.

PPG’s Infrastructure Team helps hundreds of local governments nationwide deliver public infrastructure projects responsively, efficiently, and effectively for all residents. The team provides hands-on support to priority projects, runs workshops, provides training and coaching, and produces off-the-shelf templates and playbooks for governments. The Program Coordinator will report to a Project Leader and work closely with the team’s Project Leaders and Associates by providing support to the day-to-day operations of projects and turn technical content into engaging materials that inspire action among our government partners.

Key Responsibilities

Communications & Outreach (35%)

• Spearhead design of outreach and engagement strategies that increase awareness of PPG’s free technical assistance offerings and engagement by government partners.
• Draft and distribute newsletters, email updates, and event invitations.
• Translate technical content into engaging written materials and off-the-shelf resources.
• Support the design of dynamic, interactive workshops that resonate with government partners.
• Maintain contact lists and outreach records for cities, funders, and partner organizations.

Project Development and Delivery Support (30%)

• Track deadlines and deliverables across multiple engagements to keep projects on schedule.
• Prepare, format, and proofread project materials such as reports, slide decks, and memos.
• Conduct research and data to inform project scoping, design, evaluation, and knowledge management.
• Surface insights to help shape project strategies in alignment with PPG’s goals.

Events and Meetings Coordination & Logistics (20%)

• Schedule, organize, and document meetings, workshops, and webinars with external stakeholders.
• Plan and coordinate logistics for virtual and in-person events, including invitations, materials, travel arrangements, and follow-up communication.

Team Collaboration (15%)

• Coordinate with staff across PPG to promote project transparency, spread learnings, and amplify impact.
• Contribute ideas to improve knowledge management, workflow tracking, and internal processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of professional experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience such as project coordination, event planning, and communications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and virtual collaboration tools (Canva, Zoom, other).
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
• Willingness and ability to travel 3-5 times per year.

Compensation: The salary for this role is $81,250 plus benefits. We offer a comprehensive, people-first benefits package to support the well-being of our team and their families. We offer medical, dental, and vision insurance, with multiple plan options to fit individual needs as well as access to health and flexible savings accounts. Paid time off includes: 15 vacation days, 12 sick days, 3 personal days, 2 floating holidays, 12 paid holidays, and a winter recess. We also provide an employer match for retirement savings, paid parental leave, and access to backup care for caregiving needs. To support remote work, we offer work-from-home stipends or shared office space options.

Start date: The desired start date for this role is January or February 2026. This position is grant-funded. Employment is contingent on continuation of funds and organizational needs, at PPG’s sole discretion.
