    Community engagement and school readiness initiatives that empower families and communities with the tools, resources, and support they need to break cycles of chronic school underachievement and generational poverty.

    Smart from the Start offers a comprehensive set of coordinated services for parents, caregivers, and children to support school readiness, including home visiting, parenting education, adult learning, family engagement activities, and community-wide initiatives focused on early childhood development.

    Position Overview

    The Early Childhood Program Facilitator plays a key role in delivering and supporting SMART’s site-based programming in one of our Boston neighborhoods. Working closely with the Program Coordinator, the facilitator assists with outreach, program delivery, family engagement, and documentation to ensure successful participation and outcomes for families with children ages 0–5.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement outreach strategies to increase family participation in Smart

    programming

    • Lead community outreach and engagement efforts in assigned neighborhoods
    • Maintain steady interest, attendance, and enrollment in early childhood and family programs
    • Manage program materials, equipment, and supplies for site-specific activities
    • Collect and maintain program documentation to support evaluation and reporting
    • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and community events
    • Represent Smart from the Start at partner and community meetings

    REQUIRED: EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE

    Preferred Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
    • Experience working with culturally diverse, multilingual, and economically diverse families
    • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
    • Familiarity with Boston neighborhoods, schools, and community resources
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
    • Driver's license
    • Bilingual in Spanish

    Position Details

    • Schedule: Part-time, includes some evenings and weekends
    • Compensation: $18–$22 per hour (based on experience)
    • Reports to: Program Coordinator and/or Program Manager
