    Position Overview

    ECCO seeks a dynamic, faith- and values-driven community organizer to work in cities and towns across the North Shore, with a primary focus on organizing Black congregations and institutions in Lynn. This full-time role builds leadership teams, strengthens ECCO’s base, and supports major justice campaigns.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Organize congregations and community groups in Lynn and 1–2 other North Shore cities or towns, with a special focus on Black communities in Lynn.
    • Recruit, train, coach, and develop leaders and clergy; expand ECCO’s base.
    • Hold 15–20 relational 1:1 meetings per week.
    • Support campaign strategy, narrative work, leadership development, and turnout.
    • Support fundraising by helping organize events, assisting peer-to-peer fundraising efforts, and contributing to grants and donor communications.
    • Lead ECCO’s communications by strengthening our public presence through email, website, social media, marketing materials, and traditional media coverage.
    • Create and facilitate trainings that build political analysis and practical organizing skills.
    • Participate in statewide and national trainings; meet regularly with supervisor.
    • Work at least two weekend half-days per month (with compensatory time).

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 5+ years in organizing, community-building, pastoral leadership, or comparable experience.
    • Strong relational skills; experience developing directly affected leaders.
    • Ability to work across diverse communities and in moments of crisis.
    • Strong racial justice analysis, communication skills, and strategic thinking.
    • Responsible, self-directed, and collaborative.
    • Grounded understanding of one’s faith, religious, or values journey.
    • Willingness to travel 1–2 times per month within Massachusetts; car encouraged.

    Salary & Benefits

    • $50,000–$60,000 annually, depending on experience
    • Health insurance for full-time staff
    • 15 weeks paid time off (10 rest weeks, 2 weeks in late December, 4 weeks in summer)
