    About Community Loaves

Community Loaves™ is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a simple but powerful vision: bringing communities together through baking to reduce hunger and promote wellness. Our small but mighty organization relies on over 1000 passionate home-based volunteer bakers who create fresh whole-grain sandwich loaves and Energy Cookies, delivering them to 50 food bank partners through 64 community hubs twice monthly. While we’re rooted in Washington and the Puget Sound area, our impact has reached into other states, including California, Oregon, and Idaho, and is still growing. We dream big – envisioning a sustainable program that communities nationwide can embrace and make their own.

Being a small, volunteer-driven organization means our paid staff wear many hats and have the unique opportunity to grow their skills across different areas. You’ll find yourself contributing to various aspects of our mission and discovering new strengths along the way.

Our Mission: To nurture strong communities through the connection, training, and empowerment of home-based bakers to reduce hunger and promote wellness.

    KEY ROLE OBJECTIVES

    What You’ll Do:

The Community Engagement and Marketing Specialist is responsible for building strong relationships with community members, partners, and volunteers while enhancing the organization’s visibility through strategic marketing and communications. This role blends outreach, storytelling, and digital marketing to expand the organization’s impact, engage diverse audiences, and strengthen brand awareness.

    Key Responsibilities Include:

    Community Engagement

    • Develop and implement social media campaign strategies to engage new audiences and sustain long-term participation.
    • Using social media tools, cultivate and maintain relationships with community partners, volunteers, donors, and stakeholders.
    • Spotlight our efforts locally, regionally, and nationally, raise awareness of food insecurity, and invite participation to help Bake A Difference.
    • Attend and capture 1-2 community donation events or hub events per month (in-person or virtual). Driving event storytelling and ensuring a plan for capturing photos/video for ongoing marketing use.
    • Build and maintain a community contact list and partner tracker to document outreach efforts and relationships.

    Social Media Marketing & Communications

    • Using an agreed-upon monthly content calendar framework, deliver specific social media campaign objectives weekly, projected to be 3-5 posts per week—a mix of amplification and new post creation.
    • Plan, create, and execute digital social media marketing campaigns to grow the organization's presence across all relevant platforms, building and expanding upon existing content frameworks.
    • Interact with our Breader Together network to capture and share the many stories of connection and purpose at the heart of our work.
    • Help establish a strong marketing foundation — a scalable ‘engine’ of repeatable strategies and content tactics that amplify our story and that of our stakeholders across multiple platforms and hubs.
    • Establish and track specific campaign goals, including A/B testing, impressions, reach, follower growth rate, brand mentions, engagement rate, comments, shares/reposts, and provide detailed monthly analytics summarizing these metrics and key learnings.
    • Create and maintain a company content resource library that includes all archived social media assets, including event photos, campaign copy, campaign-specific style guides, and testimonials.
    • Collaborate with the ED in the extension of our current visuals and written voice that aligns with Community Loaves’ established brand assets.
    • Working with the ED to create 2-3 events that invite partnerships with suppliers, food banks, and/or local community organizations as a natural extension of our work.

    Program Support

    • Collaborate with staff to promote programs across the organization
    • Provide content support for annual reporting and grant materials, including stories, data, and photos.
    • Participate in program-specific activities - volunteer shifts, flour-truck delivery, special donation events to deepen understanding of all program efforts.
