About the Role

The Manager, Girls & Women Programs, is responsible for managing the creation and rollout of training, curriculum, and technical assistance content that grows and improves the experience and success of girls and women in soccer. In addition, this position coordinates the research, coalition building, and activation of meaningful partners to support girls and women in soccer. The Manager, Women & Girls Programs collaborates closely with consultants and internal teams to deliver high-quality, impactful education and program solutions tailored to the needs of the sports-based youth development field.

About the Team

The Programs Department is responsible for operating, improving, and scaling the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s child-centered programs and adult learning trainings, to ensure that the Foundation remains at the forefront of the sports-based youth development (SBYD) field. This work involves curating SBYD best practices to innovate and tailor our curricula and training to meet the unique needs of underserved communities across the country. Designing and deploying pathways to scale, this team is responsible for driving the adoption of the U.S. Soccer Foundation methodology in youth serving marketplaces across the country.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Foundation’s women coach training and education content to deliver impactful learning experiences, with a goal of reaching 50,000 women coaches and educators by 2031
• Manage the Foundation’s girls’ program to deliver impactful SBYD experiences for girls from historically marginalized communities
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and interdisciplinary resources to develop innovative and cutting-edge training, curriculum, and technical assistance materials for the SBYD and soccer communities
• Support the research of, and coalition building of, meaningful partners in girls and women in soccer
• Support the implementation of quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods to measure customer success and inform program improvements
• Manage the translation of findings from data into meaningful programmatic interventions and/or improvements
• Actively engage in thought leadership forums related to school, out-of-school, coach education, and gender equity contributing to discussions and advancements in the field
• Establish and nurture partnerships with key collaborators, building relationships at the national, state, and local levels to drive the ongoing adoption of resources and trainings
• Assist in the planning and execution of national and regional facilitator and trainer events to ensure successful delivery and engagement
• Uphold and actively promote the goals, mission, and culture of the U.S. Soccer Foundation in all responsibilities and activities
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed to advance the Foundation’s initiatives

About You

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5+ years of professional experience in driving girls’ participation in sport and/or women participation in coaching
• Specific knowledge in content area(s) related to sport for development trainings, including but not limited to gender equity, youth work, health equity, sport for development, conflict resolution, and/or social entrepreneurship
• Demonstrated ability to work across departments, supporting both programmatic and funding partnership growth
• Demonstrated experience in designing and executing training and professional development events for women
• Demonstrated knowledge of issues impacting girls and women in underserved communities
• Demonstrated experience in valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive and culturally responsive working and learning environment
• Ability to empathetically manage multiple projects and work assignments with multiple partners with diverse perspectives, utilizing a strong attention to detail
• Experience managing teammates, consultants, and partnerships
• Self-starter, exhibiting a strong work ethic, ability to maximize work with minimal oversight
• Strong oral, written, research, and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of and commitment to the U.S. Soccer Foundation mission
• Proficiency in Microsoft, Salesforce, Absorb, Zoom, Canva, and other online platforms
• Experience designing and leading training(s) in varied settings and program and project management experience
• Experience in initiatives empowering under-represented communities, including but not limited to girls and women, Indigenous Peoples, refugees and immigrants, LGBTQ+, persons with disabilities, and racial, ethnic, and linguistic minorities
• Spanish and/or other language proficiency a plus
• Ability to travel up to 30% of schedule, to include nights, weekends, and holidays
