    Description

    Businesses Ending Slavery and Trafficking (BEST) is a nonprofit organization with a mission to align and equip leaders to use the power of employers in business and the public sector to prevent human trafficking. BEST aims to build the capacity of employers to become socially responsible and sustainable on the issue of human trafficking. Based in Seattle, BEST works with employers across the U.S.. Our staff work together in person on Tuesdays at BEST’s office in Seattle, and remotely with close coordination online all other weekdays.     BEST is seeking an Outreach and Corporate Relations Professional. The primary responsibility of this position is to promote BEST’s consultation and training services and resources via direct outreach to employers to increase the number of employers countering human trafficking, and the range of ways each employer acts against human trafficking. The position will also help provide BEST’s consultation and training services to employers and their staff, both live online and in person at workplaces. The Outreach & Corporate Relations Professional will develop and implement outreach strategies that result in meaningful engagement with employers, initiate and sustain strategic relationships, develop and employ relational sales techniques consistent with BEST’s mission and values, and provide a variety of presentations to employers with the aim of eliciting commitments to act against human trafficking. The ideal candidate is highly relational, a self-starter, eager to build new networks, excellent at follow-through, and effective in persuasive communication.

    Responsibilities

    • Identify and initiate opportunities for BEST with employers that generate earned revenue and advance BEST’s mission.
    • Initiate outreach to potential employer clients regarding how human trafficking impacts their industry and BEST’s services and resources.
    • Respond to employer inquiries for training or consulting, assess the employers’ needs, write proposals that correspond to their needs, negotiate contracts, and steward the relationships.
    • Recruit new employers to implement best practices including training their staff, and persuade and equip current employer clients to sustain and increase their efforts to counter human trafficking.
    • Help facilitate Human Trafficking Prevention Strategy Development workshops for executives.
    • Provide consultation to employers and training for employees both online and in person at workplaces.
    • Represent BEST at industry conferences around the United States.
    • Additional responsibilities as needed.

    General Qualifications

    • Unequivocal commitment to the BEST mission, and vision to help create a world in which no one is trafficked—a world in which every person has the right to be free from commercial sexual exploitation and forced labor.
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or evidence of equivalent experience.
    • At least five years of relevant work experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and persuasively with a wide and diverse range of stakeholders.
    • Proactive and able to work independently with some oversight.
    • Capacity to learn quickly and adapt easily to new situations and a dynamic work environment and growing organization.
    • Experienced and comfortable networking professionally in person and via LinkedIn.

    Specific Qualifications

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Strong project management and client management skills.
    • Excellent follow-through and problem-solving skills.
    • Able to quickly earn trust through the timely delivery of high-quality work.
    • Ability and willingness to drive oneself to workplaces around WA and fly to workplaces in other states, typically 1-2 times per month (with travel expenses reimbursed by BEST).
    • Experience working with a CRM to manage clients.
    • Experience collaborating via a project management platform.

    Preferred Experience, Capabilities, and Skills

    • At least three years of business-to-business sales, consulting, and/or training experience.
    • Well-skilled in using Salesforce, Asana, SharePoint, and Microsoft suite.

    Position Details

    • 40 hours/week.
    • Position is based in Seattle and will involve occasional travel around WA and within the US.
    • Position is hybrid, currently in the office one day a week, and allows for some flexibility in scheduling weekday work hours.
    • Rank: The rank of the person hired in this position will be Coordinator, Manager, or Senior Manager, DOE.
    • Starting salary range: $61,000-90,000 DOE.
    • Attendance at occasional weekend and evening events is required.
    • Position reports to one of BEST’s Co-Directors of Programs
