Broad Street Love is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity within our organization and assist in building an equitable and inclusive community.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Chief Operating Officer, Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors on financial planning and sustainability.

    • Present quarterly financial reports, cash flow projections and financial insights to the Finance Committee.
    • Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial data entry and reporting.
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and internal policies.
    • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
    • Monitor restricted and unrestricted funding to ensure compliance with donor intent and grant agreements.
    • Collaborate with the development team to provide financial data and reporting for grant applications and funders reports.
    • Lead annual audit and serve as liaison with external auditors.
    • Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax and regulatory documents (e.g., IRS Form 990).
    • Maintain internal controls and ensure financial risk is mitigated.
    • Supervise, mentor and support finance staff fostering a culture of accountability and transparency.
    • Collaborate across departments to support programmatic and operational decision-making with relevant financial insights.
    • Support payroll and benefits administration functions, in collaboration with operations staff and external providers.
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications and Skills:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field required
      • MBA and/or CPA preferred
      • A minimum of seven years of professional experience working in a managerial and/or executive role in a non-profit, a minimum of five years of financial experience.
      • Demonstrated grants management and reporting experience.
      • Solid communications skills and the ability to communicate complex and/or detailed financial information effectively to an audience that is less fiscally conversant.

    Other:

The mission of Broad Street Love is to transform our city, our institutions, and ourselves by embracing the individual needs of our most vulnerable sisters and brothers, and by embracing radical hospitality.
