    About the Role

    The Strategist, Organizing & Narrative Shift (TONs) leads Equality Federation’s Trans Organizing & Narrative Shift work. This role connects message research, organizing strategy, and community training to help reshape public narratives about transgender people and strengthen trans-led movements across the country.

    Reporting to the Senior Director of Advocacy & Civic Engagement, this role works closely with internal teams, research partners, and state organizations to ensure the work is strategic, grounded, and aligned with community needs.

    What You’ll Do

    This role focuses on four key areas:

    Project Administration (20%)

    • Manage timelines, contracts, budgets, invoices, and documentation for the TONs project
    • Support project coordination and facilitate meetings when needed
    • Maintain clear systems that keep work organized and moving forward

    Messaging Research (35%)

    • Lead collaboration with research partners on message testing and analysis
    • Translate research findings into clear narrative insights and recommendations
    • Manage data responsibly and communicate findings across teams

    Community Training & Deployment (35%)

    • Turn research insights into trainings, webinars, and tools
    • Lead and coordinate training delivery with partners and organizers
    • Support state partners in applying narrative strategies in real-world contexts

    Organizing & Deep Canvassing (10%)

    • Help connect message research to organizing strategy and field work
    • Support development of tools and trainings that strengthen narrative capacity

    Who We’re Looking For

    You might be a strong fit if you bring:

    • Experience in organizing, narrative change, research, training, or movement work
    • Strong project and program management skills
    • Ability to translate research into actionable strategy and trainings
    • A deep commitment to trans liberation, racial justice, and equity
    • A collaborative, values-driven approach to teamwork

    Lived experience or deep accountability to trans communities is strongly valued.

    Location & Eligibility

    • Remote position (contiguous United States only)
    • Must have reliable internet and access to a major airport
    • Some travel required (approximately 30%)

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Salary: $74,750 (non-negotiable; based on Equity Compensation Model)
