Since 2004, the organization has awarded more than 100,000 activity awards totaling over $36 million to military children nationwide.
As the Senior Development Manager, you will:
- Shape Corporate Impact: Lead partnerships that go beyond philanthropy, aligning corporate social responsibility priorities with life-changing opportunities for military kids.
- Drive Strategic Growth: Secure new and increased support to expand Our Military Kids’ reach and resources for military families.

Job Summary
The Senior Development Manager is an integral member of the Development team, responsible for securing funding from leading corporations and foundations and cultivating long-term, mission-aligned relationships.
This individual will play a key role in driving growth by identifying and engaging corporate and foundation prospects, aligning their priorities with Our Military Kids’ mission, and building trust through strategic communication and stewardship. The ideal candidate is both a relationship builder and a strategist, comfortable networking, pitching to senior decision-makers, and crafting compelling proposals.
You’ll work closely with the Executive Director and Senior Director of Development to drive measurable fundraising outcomes and strengthen Our Military Kids’ national impact.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio & Revenue Generation
- Develop and execute a multi-year corporate giving and grants strategy in collaboration with leadership.
- Identify and pursue high-impact corporate and foundation funding opportunities aligned with organizational priorities.
- Manage a comprehensive corporate and foundation portfolio, securing new annual support toward a defined dollar goal.
- Coordinate employee engagement and stewardship activities for partners.
Relationship Management
- Leverage internal stakeholders and board networks to build connections and open doors to new opportunities.
- Secure opportunities to pitch senior decision-makers at major corporations and foundations.
- Create compelling, customized proposals, sponsorship packages, and partnership concepts.
- Cultivate long-term, mission-driven relationships that deliver mutual value for partners and the organization.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of high-value corporate partners.
Grants, Reporting & Collaboration
- Oversee the full grant lifecycle: research, proposal development, compliance, reporting, and renewals.
- Maintain a master calendar of deadlines and deliverables in Asana and ensure accurate forecasting and performance tracking in Salesforce.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of grant and partnership prospects.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create donor materials, impact reports, and annual reports.
- Partner with the Director of Marketing and Communications to align communications strategies with development initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive nonprofit fundraising experience, specifically in grant writing and developing corporate partnerships.
- A bachelor’s degree is required and preferably in a related field (e.g., communications, business, nonprofit management)
- Proven success in securing major grants, sponsorships, or corporate partnerships.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to engage senior-level stakeholders.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with superior attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational, research, and project management abilities.
- Experience in fast-paced, mission-driven nonprofit environments.
- Proficiency with Salesforce (or similar CRM), Asana (or similar project management tool), and Microsoft Office 365.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small, high-performing team.
- Flexibility to attend evening events and occasional travel as required.
- Military spouse or veteran, preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range is $75,000–$90,000 and is based on skills and experience. Our Military Kids offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
