    Description

SPCA International (SPCAI) is a small but mighty team of non-profit professionals improving the lives of animals, and the humans who love them, through innovative programs and partnerships. From rescuing dogs for U.S. soldiers deployed in the Middle East to supporting relief efforts on the Ukrainian border, SPCAI has made a positive impact on animals in over 70 countries. As a relatively young non-profit headquartered in New York City, SPCAI has grown exponentially since its founding and aims to continue that trend.

    Position Summary

The Marketing Systems & Deliverability Manager is responsible for the technical infrastructure and performance systems that power SPCA International’s digital fundraising and marketing efforts. This role oversees email deliverability, conversion tracking, attribution reporting, and marketing tech integrations.

This is a hybrid role ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of email infrastructure, Google Ads/GTM/GA4, and campaign performance optimization. You’ll work cross-functionally with fundraising strategists, content producers, and developers to ensure our platforms are reliable, scalable, and driving measurable results.

    Key Responsibilities

    Email Deliverability & Infrastructure

    • Maintain email sending health.
    • Monitor inbox placement, bounce rates, complaint rates, and sender reputation (using Validity/Everest and similar tools).
    • Ensure correct domain authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and monitor for changes or misconfigurations.
    • Oversee IP warming, suppression logic, and list hygiene policies to maintain high deliverability.
    • Act as point of contact for troubleshooting sync issues between platforms and vendors.

    Ad Tracking & Conversion Attribution

    • Manage Google Tag Manager (GTM), ensuring all relevant campaign tags and event tracking are implemented correctly.
    • Set up and maintain GA4 event tracking for donation forms, campaign landing pages, and email CTAs.
    • Coordinate with fundraising and content teams to ensure UTMs are structured and applied consistently.
    • Lead troubleshooting of tracking gaps, form drop-off, and multi-touch attribution blind spots.

    Performance Reporting

    • Partner with strategist to monitor campaign performance metrics and advise on technical improvements.
    • Provide strategic input based on data trends—e.g., best-performing channels, day/time testing, page-level conversions.

    Compliance & Vendor Management

    • Stay current on privacy regulations (GDPR, CAN-SPAM, CCPA) and email platform terms of service.
    • Manage relationships with marketing tech vendors, including Google Ads, Validity, FundraiseUp, and Engaging Networks.

    Qualifications

    • 4–6 years of hands-on experience managing marketing systems, email deliverability, or martech infrastructure.
    • Proficiency with Engaging Networks, Salesforce, Google Tag Manager, GA4, FundraiseUp (or similar platforms).
    • Working knowledge of DNS records, authentication protocols, and IP/domain reputation tools.
    • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills—able to troubleshoot complex tracking and automation issues.
    • Familiarity with Google Ads and Google Ad Grants a plus.
    • Comfortable working across departments and translating technical concepts to non-technical team members.
