The Agency
At Social Service Association of Ridgewood and Vicinity, Inc. (“SSA”), we are neighbors helping neighbors. SSA provides food, emergency rent, utility assistance, and support services to individuals and families in Ridgewood, Glen Rock, Ho-Ho-Kus, Midland Park, Waldwick, and Wyckoff, New Jersey. SSA is a registered 501(c)(3) organization.
The Role
The Case Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of SSA’s client caseload including determining eligibility, providing agency services and referrals, maintaining confidential data, and providing reporting and other support to members of the Board of Directors. The position reports directly to the Agency Director and the Case Committee of the Board of Directors.
Specific duties & responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Case Management & Pantry/Office:
- Conducts client intake and recertification process
- Acts as SSA liaison, together with Agency Director, in providing services to clients in a supportive, confidential, and nurturing manner.
- Facilitates the food voucher process to clients.
- Monitors the pantry and client use of the pantry, together with the Agency Director, in whatever form it may take.
- Maintains client data and other case-related information within Salesforce.
- Provides the Case Committee or any committee thereof with requested reports and data related to case management or agency activity.
- Maintains job-related operational documentation.
Financial and Budgetary:
- Operates within the approved budget and uses resources wisely in order to optimize SSA’s financial position.
- Submit all case-related expense invoices to the VP of Finance and/or Treasurer.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Part-time hours (24 per week)
- 3 weeks paid vacation
- 3 paid sick days
- Federal holidays if they fall on weekdays
- 2 paid personal days/floating holidays
- $28/hour plus potential for annual bonus
The Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Ability to effectively serve a diverse client population with compassion and confidentiality
- Ability to build strong working relationships across multiple stakeholder groups including members of the Board of Directors, fellow staff members, and community groups.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills.
- Knowledgeable in needs of client population and availability of community resources
- Experience with databases (e.g., Salesforce) and other technology (e.g., websites, DocuSign, Office suite)
- Fluency in Spanish a plus
