    Description

    The Philanthropy Associate, Annual Giving & Grassroots is responsible for assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of core direct response fundraising, while also helping to ensure that data-driven fundraising materials for Regions and Chapters are accurate and timely. The position emphasizes analytical rigor, donor-centric communication, and collaboration.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assist with the development and delivery of philanthropy reports and presentations to approximately 30 regions annually, translating fundraising data into clear, actionable insights for volunteer (region and chapter level) and staff stakeholders.
    • Support generating annual fundraising goals for the 30 regions (including chapter-level breakouts) informed by historical performance and donor data.
    • Serve as an additional point of contact for volunteers, primarily region and chapter leaders, meeting as needed or requested to review and/or clarify fundraising data shared.
    • Maintain and update the data templates for the Philanthropy Division, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and appropriate use of fundraising metrics for all Philanthropy departments.
    • Collaborate with the Donor Experience Department and the Senior Director, Annual Giving & Grassroots to support 10 appeal mailings and two acquisition mailings annually, ensuring data accuracy, project trafficking, readiness for production, and quality control.
    • Work with the Marketing & Communications Division, Donor Experience and the Senior Director, Annual Giving & Grassroots on the execution of January–November email campaigns, ensuring appropriate project trafficking and performance reporting.
    • Collaborate to execute 14 Giving Tuesday and End-of-Year (GT/EOY) emails, as well as additional assets, with a focus on project trafficking, quality control, and campaign analysis.
    • Assist with data preparation and validation for four quarterly donor statements, ensuring accuracy and consistency of donor-facing information.
    • Help to identify trends and share insights to inform future direct response and philanthropy strategies.
    • Ensure all materials adhere to organizational standards.

    Required Knowledge, Education, Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
    • 4+ years of experience in direct response fundraising, development analytics, or a related nonprofit field.
    • Demonstrated experience working with donor databases (Salesforce a plus) and fundraising performance data (must know Excel, other analytical tools helpful).
    • Experience creating complex reports and analyses, using best practices for data management and assessment
    • Experience with multi-channel fundraising campaigns, including mail and email.
    • Experience working with volunteer or chapter-based organizations preferred.

    • Ability to coordinate deadlines and priorities under pressure.
