    Requirements

    Master’s degree in counseling or a related field

    Active Maryland LCPC license (or eligibility for licensure within 6 months).

    Minimum of two years of clinical experience providing therapy, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care to at-risk or vulnerable populations, including adolescent and adult women and children

    Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document effectively and communicate professionally.

    Demonstrated ability to engage individuals from diverse cultural, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

    Preferred:

    Experience working in shelter, transitional, or community-based settings.

    Familiarity with trauma-informed care, perinatal mental health, or adolescent/young adult counseling.

    Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.

    Demonstrated compassion, professionalism, and cultural humility

    Experience collaborating within a multidisciplinary team environment

    Excellent problem-solving and crisis management abilities.

    Bilingual (English/Spanish) strong preferred, proficiency in additional language is a plus.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and psychosocial evaluations to identify residents’ needs, strengths, and challenges.

    Assist with program admissions and intake screenings for new or potential residents to assess eligibility, immediate needs, and readiness for program placement.

    Provide trauma-informed individuals, groups, and family counseling to promote emotional regulation, coping skills, and parenting capacity.

    Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans within required timeframes.

    Facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic groups on topics such as trauma recovery, stress management, self-esteem, and healthy relationships.

    Create and maintain safety plans as needed to address behavioral or environmental risks.

    Respond to crises and provide de-escalation and clinical support during emergencies.

    Collaborate with program staff, case managers, and supervisors regarding resident progress and service coordination.

    Serve as a liaison between family members, referring agencies, and community professionals involved in residents’ care.

    Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to review progress, adjust goals, and ensure holistic care.

    Maintain timely and clinically appropriate documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and summaries in the AWARDS database.

    Contribute to program quality improvement initiatives by collecting data, identifying trends, and recommending enhancements.

    Attend supervision, staff meetings, clinical meetings, and required professional development training.

    Transport residents as needed to appointments related to treatment, education, or court requirements.

    Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Clinical and Social Work Services.
