    Job Description: The Christina Park Coordinator plays a key role in facilitating, supporting, and uplifting individuals experiencing homelessness by building trust, fostering relationships, and connecting people to resources and services that best meet their needs—on their terms. This role requires compassion, flexibility, strong attention to detail, and a deep commitment to equity and dignity for all people. The ideal candidate will have experience in case management, staff supervision, and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. This position reports to the Outreach Manager.

    Key Responsibilities

    Direct Outreach & Case Management

    • Conduct regular outreach to unhoused individuals at Christina Park
    • Build trusting relationships with clients through trauma-informed and person-centered approaches
    • Provide individualized case management, focusing on client-identified goals and needs
    • Connect clients with appropriate services (housing, mental health, substance use treatment, employment, etc.)
    • Respect and foster client autonomy while supporting individuals' efforts towards positive outcomes
    • Ensure services are delivered in a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and client-centered manner

    Coordination with Community Partners

    • Maintain ongoing communication with service providers visiting Christina Park
    • Communicate processes with community members looking to support (volunteer/donate items) to Christina Park

    Christina Park Oversight

    • Offer FH services in compliance with the City of Wilmington’s scope of services
    • Uphold Christina Park rules, including but not limited to no substance use, respect of property, and proper use of bathrooms and tents.
    • Inform individuals at Christina Park of FH seasonal programming services

    Administrative & Organizational Support

    • Document all client interactions promptly and accurately in the Friendship House dedicated database to ensure continuity of care.
    • Records of outreach contacts, service referrals, and program data.

    On-Call Availability

    • Be available for on-call response during nights/weekends in coordination with team rotation.
    • Provide crisis intervention and logistical support as needed during off-hours.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 3 years of case management, outreach, or related experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals experiencing homelessness with empathy, patience, and respect.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to juggle multiple priorities.
    • Experience supervising staff and/or volunteers strongly preferred.
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.
    • Familiarity with local social service systems and trauma-informed care practices.
    • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
