    Location: Peekskill, NY (primarily in-person; some local travel required)

    Engagement: Initial 8-week consulting engagement, with potential extension or transition to full-time employment

    Too Young to Wed is a global organization working to end child marriage and advance girls’ rights through education, protection, advocacy, storytelling, and long-term community change. Our work spans grassroots programming, strategic partnerships, media engagement, and governance across multiple countries and contexts.

    Role Overview

    The Associate, Office of the CEO, is a high-trust, execution-focused role supporting the Founder & CEO across communications, development, program design, operations, board relations, and external partnerships.

    This hands-on role ensures meetings are well prepared, decisions are tracked, and critical details do not fall through the cracks — the behind-the-scenes work through which much of girls’ rights advancement becomes possible.

    The Associate manages stakeholder momentum, aligns executive priorities, captures institutional knowledge, and maintains continuity across internal and external commitments. Executive coordination and follow-through are the primary responsibilities. Operational and development support flex based on CEO priorities and workload.

    This position requires in-person presence in Peekskill, NY. The work depends on real-time context, proximity, and direct support during meetings and external engagements.

    Key Responsibilities

    Executive Coordination & Calendar Alignment

    • Manage and maintain the CEO’s calendar, aligning meetings with strategic priorities and stakeholder momentum
    • Prepare briefing materials, background research, and concise context notes
    • Draft agendas and identify key considerations
    • Capture decisions and convert them into structured next steps
    • Maintain tracking systems for commitments and follow-up
    • Draft follow-up communications for CEO review

    Stakeholder, Board & Partnership Support

    • Coordinate follow-up across partners, board members, and select donors
    • Support board meeting preparation and track trustee commitments
    • Maintain continuity across stakeholder conversations
    • Assist in managing cross-cultural and cross-timezone communications

    Institutional Memory & Continuity

    • Capture and organize institutional knowledge from CEO discussions and decisions
    • Maintain structured documentation of strategic rationale and relationship history
    • Organize executive records to improve continuity and reduce repetition

    Development, Media & Operational Support (As Needed)

    • Support preparation and follow-through for development and partnership meetings
    • Assist with preparation for media and public-facing engagements
    • Provide hands-on support during advocacy events and external moments
    • Support operational tasks tied directly to CEO-led initiatives

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Experience operating in high-trust, high-discretion environments
    • Strong written communication and synthesis skills
    • Exceptional attention to detail
    • Strong organizational discipline and follow-through
    • Confidence following up with senior stakeholders
    • Ability to manage multiple workstreams calmly and independently
    • Willingness to work primarily in person in Peekskill, NY

    Preferred

    • Experience in nonprofit, advocacy, diplomacy, media, or mission-driven settings
    • Exposure to board governance or external stakeholder coordination
    • Comfort working across cultures and time zones
    • Interest in global justice, girls’ education, or human rights

    Structure & Transition

    This role begins as an 8-week consulting engagement designed to assess mutual fit, working style, and performance in a high-trust executive environment. Extension or transition to full-time employment, if applicable, is performance-based and aligned with organizational needs.
