    Description

    National Parents Organization, a 501c3 nonprofit, is looking for a highly motivated individual to to work as a manager of our volunteer chapter leaders on a half-time independent contractor basis for a three year contract term with the option for contract renewal. The Chapter Organizer would serve as the main liaison between the national organization and each of our state chapters, keeping volunteers engaged and assisting them in their advocacy efforts.

    Responsibilities

    • Onboard and train new volunteers, familiarizing them with NPO’s mission and messaging strategy.
    • Connect potential new volunteers with the leads of their state chapters and identify potential leaders in new states.
    • Keep current volunteers engaged with the organization through consistent communication and online meetings or training sessions. Build relationships with volunteers that will encourage them to stay engaged.
    • Create new training materials on legislative advocacy and the legislative process.
    • Assist states as needed with creation of marketing and outreach materials and internet advocacy campaigns.
    • Assist new volunteers with learning the legislative process in their state.
    • Constantly assess volunteer needs and create plans to respond to them.
    • Work with leadership to implement new volunteer engagement or training strategies.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Volunteer coordination or management experience
    • Experience with the state legislative process (in any state)
    • Knowledge of shared parenting/family law reform or a willingness to learn in-depth about the issue is highly preferred
    • Experience with volunteer recruitment and database management

    Compensation

    $25-$30 per hour based on experience and qualifications. Competitive bonuses based on achievement of metrics to be decided jointly by contractor and leadership team.
